Turn 42:

Site:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
First you disband the party that was going to explore to the east and instead organize one to scout out the life temple. they take a spear, a sword, the bag of dried meats and the Fellaxe.

You have a little meeting with Vulgaras, the carpenter and the newly arrived mason to discuss defenses. You get some quotes from them regarding the time and materials needed for a trench, a pallisade and stone wall.

Stone Wall(one and a half humans height): 60 Man-turns and 160 stone.
Stone block Wall(one and a half humans height): 45 Man-turns and 60 stone blocks.
Stone Wall(human height): 40 Man-turns and 80 stone.
Stone block Wall(human height): 30 Man-turns and 40 stone blocks.
Low Stone Wall (half human height): 20 Man-turns and 20 stone.
Low Stone block Wall (half human height): 15 Man-turns and 20 stone.

Pallisade(one and a half humans height): 60 Man-turns and 60 wood
Pallisade(human height): 40 Man-turns and 40 wood
Pallisade(half human height): 20 Man-turns and 20 wood

Trench(half human deep): 30 Man-turns
Trench(human deep): 60 Man-turns

Other notes:
The mason can make 3 stone blocks a turn.
The carpenter can make wooden shovels (which will break)
Stone/stone block walls don't require any tools to make (unlike wooden structures which need one hammer per 3 workers).
Each worker digging the trench must have a shovel

Monty and one of the goblins stop the hats from escaping and are trying to get them back into their pen.

The human you sent to gather fruit and berries is attempting to knock down the fruit by throwing rocks since he cannot reach them.

South(stream):
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The hunting party arrives at the stream. The only animals nearby are the two ridge-backs from yesterday and some scattered hats. The yolc fills the barrel with water.

East:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Gargle and his assistant come across some tear shaped green fruit in one of the bushes.

Send the fellaxe.

Gargle should hoist Tagracka into the tree to pick the fruit, then help it down and pick the grinberries.

Start blockifying the stone.

Dump all the red berries into the filth pit.

Red berries are food, we need food.
Also:
Make the carpenter make a ladder after the table.

I vote for the stone block wall of human height, and, if possible, a half human depth trench (this way we make things difficult for the trsspassers while still being able to attack)

Especially if we then use the dirt acquired for a ramp on our side of the wall.

However, we'll need to acquire a little more rock (which shouldn't be too hard), and we'll only be able to build as fast as our mason can churn out blocks.

Can we get a discount on a stone wall if we do it at the same time as a trench? It is basically just shifting dirt... from a trench to next to the trench...

Sounds good. I would dig trench half human depth and then after some time dig it even deeper to normal human depth after we get some ranged weapons.
Or we could even dig in some spikes like here:
not now of course.

Yeah, the trench's size can be increased if we want.

Also: the math:
Human height stone block wall:
Stone blocks: 40/3 per turn= 14 turns for the mason
40 blocks/ 30 turns = 1,3(the 3 keeps repeating) blocks used per turn per man.

So: we can have the mason producing blocks while two people build the wall.

About the hunters, it would be better if they just don't bother the ridgebacks and go hunting elsewhere or go hatbusting intead.

We can use extra one man in 13 and 14 turn to finish job one turn earlier if we really want to haste it. I don't see point of such micromanaging but if we would find ourselves in danger that could help a bit.

Turn 43:

Site:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The table is finished and the Carpenter will begin work on a ladder so that you can reach the higher fruits.

Monty takes some of the bones and decorates the sacrificial slab.

The forge is complete and you take some of the sticks and leaves off of the felled tree to get the fire going. The goblin with the yellow jacket watches you.

You have the mason begin creating stone blocks for the wall you wish to build.

South(stream):
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The hunters go upstream to look for game and the Yolc heads back to the village to drop off the water barrel.

SouthWest(pond):
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The hunters find the source of the stream. There is a pond that is fed by water that flows down the cliff.

East:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Gargle gives Tagracka a boost so he can reach the fruit in the tree. He gets both a rotten and an edible one. Gargle thinks that only a bit more filth is required to begin the spawning process.

Get the rotten fruit and some blue berries into the filth pit. And take some of those grinberries back to camp.

Feed our hats and reinforce their fence. And paint them blue.

Bathe in the river source.
