"Tuskies" +1.
Formal name "Tusked Bogbles". We have no idea if they are apparented to Ridgebacks. *biologist mode engaged*
They look a lot like them, save coloration, tusks, and size. Most importantly, their backs are ridged. They're more ridgebackian than they are bog-bulls.
Taking away the "ridgeback" takes away the point of the name. That's not a compromise, it's a portmanteau that doesn't begin to fulfil the requests of the one.

bog ridgebacks?
Three problems...
1. This doesn't seem to be a bog.
2. If it was, green ridgebacks would also be bog-living ridgebacks.
3. There's no shortened version.

Solve at least two out of three and ideally all three, and I'll agree.

It's like giant and red pandas.
Except that pandas don't have das with pans on them.
If they aren't related, there's a justification for the misnomer.
In conclusion, if you don't support calling the new species a ridgeback, you can't support pandas either.

+1 for tuskies (too much debate over silly names) wonder if they're rideable?

we should find a light source so we could keep mining or make another hole next to the first one untill we figure out how to better light the inside of the cave.

I think torches were originally made with moss and tar, stuck on the end of a stick. Moss should be easy to get hold of, not sure about tar though. It's also possible to render animal fat into oil that can then be burned, although I don't know how. Finally, if we get hold of bees, we can make candles. All viable light sources. Not including any potential fantastic ones, like glowing mushrooms.

Go for one roof my suggestions. Tuskies would be the common name.

By children and midgets, perhaps.

Also, while we wait for an update, do you think that we should make the mine a kind of emergency bunker or something similar? We can build a barricaded door to keep things out, or, if shit happens, to keep things inside...

Yes, I think we should start working on the palissade we planned back at page one.

So, the tasks in the morning should be:

Crafting:
-Have the carpenter make a ladder to get fruit.
-Have an unspecialized human make baskets to carry fruit and berries (goblins are dumber than humans, right?)
-Have the carpenter make a table for dinner (you can make a ladder in less than a day, I think)

Other stuff:
-Gather food, doesn't matter what.
-Make palisade-reinforced door at mine to make it a bunker
-Make a hats pen. Capture more hats. Dye hats. Sell hats as hats in the village and become a fashion designer.
-Look for something to use as a durable light source until we discover glowing mushrooms (I hope they appear at some point)
-Make the woodworkers keep chopping wood.

Our Avatar:
-Make a Forge to make tools/weapons/something out of the metal.

More ideas?

I support bogbles or tusked bogbles. I further suggest that bogles, boggles, bobbles, and other similar suggestions be considered to be votes for bogbles.
