Consider this: Gregor and Derick have a duel with same quality weapons (Iron, for example) and in neutral conditions (no terrain, supports and so on). On whom you would bet?

Derick the Swordmaster of Doom
Gregor the Tanky Stab-Sentinel

It's because she moved to the space in front of that door and she can't move away because she used her turn moving there, not because we planned it that way, Sirus. :P

BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE THOUGHT OF BARRICADING THE DOOR
I WOULD HAVE MOVED THERE IF I WERE NOT WORKING.

If the door does open up, we can kill the first person out then have Alex move there. Problem solved.

This is no time for Caps Lock!

Are you in range to attack that space? If not, I'm leery of relying on this.

See also the paralyze problem. Also, I couldn't find what paralyze does in the handbook.

You know, I've never before felt this sinking feeling, ever, from this game.

Not even the last chapter. As fucked as we looked, we still had a good chance to get out unscathed- and we did.

Now... Holy fuck. I'm actually terrifed. This... this is so bad.

This right here is the appropriate response to this level of fuckery.

I am. Just barely.

And how exactly do we know the enemies we haven't seen have a mage with a paralyze staff? Aside from the Rule of Haspen, of course.

We don't know. But at this point, I'd like to prepare for the worst, and expect the best something even worse than that, because Haspen is more imaginative on those points than me.

You're overreacting.
You have to realize that Haspen would likely pull something at the end anyway, as it'd be pretty unrealistic for the penultimate chapter to be bloodless, even if this weren't Haspen.
Furthermore, I honestly have no idea why you're so terrified. This party has an incredible survival rate for a reason-
We are really really good at keeping ourselves alive.

And you could just magic the door down.
Seriously.

Also it's a game there is nothing to flip about it is a game.

Definitely with Powder on this one. Pride goeth and all that, but we'll make it through.

Eh, I'm somewhat confident. IF it comes down to a case of "we must slaughter them all or perish" (and I'm not sure it will turn out that way), this is nothing like the last map. We're in a narrow bunch of twisting corridors, where the enemy numbers will count for nothing. They can't swarm us with wyvern riders and airlifted troops like last time. It will be a hard-fought battle yes, but I feel we can prevail.

And even IF we're in danger of losing...well, Gregor has one last bargaining chip he can use to hopefully ensure the group's survival.

I don't even care.

I doubt it. Plotkilling someone (unless they're being a trolling ass like a certain person) is the mark of a bad GM. Haspen is frequently cruel, but a bad GM he has not been so far.

Those narrow corridors will also give us difficulty in shuffling in healers/fresh fighters when it comes time to Thermopylae this shit.

This whole thing reeks of death to me.

Of course, I also said that about chapter 3, and that ended up being a cakewalk.

Not like we can avoid it.
