Nah, because Joz is never going to hand over the Dragonstone, and is unlikely to believe that he's been hired by Prixima through a proxy in any case. Besides, if we don't kill him, I don't get to class change, so the inevitable outcome doesn't bother me.

@BMM42: Joz doesn't have the Dragonstone (assuming that's what they're after), the magic lady who fled earlier does. Joz is just buying time for her escape.

They already got what they came for: A sealed box, which they are not allowed to open, under penalty of sudden unemployment. I"d be shocked if it wasn't a dragonstone.

You guys are so adorable when you're optimistic.

Way I see it, best possible scenario is we end he battle here, head off to retrieve the dragonstone, but we get there just in time for one of Prixy's minions to ride off into the sunset with it.

Besides, overbidding isn't a sure fire trick with mercs. If we manage to convince them they've been duped first? Maybe. But out of their entire company, Derick is likely the only one in real danger.

Well, non apocalypse level danger.
