Right, I think I'll make a mage and then make him into a sage later on (for useful spells and stuff and I just don't like the top tier light magic classes). Just some questions:

Fire or Thunder?
What the hell does affinity do?
Can someone make me a copy of those totally awesome character pics for my character when I've made him? (I am NOT skilled with art at all.)

It is on the handbook. It is mostly for the support, each affinity have their own attributes. If you get a support with someone and you are close to this person, you will get the bonus of their affinity and yours. And it will increase based on the support level.

1st Question: You don't get to choose. >.> Haspen rolls twice and then you pick what you want from those two... unless he already rolled those two and I didn't see it... >.>
2nd Question: Raises your stats. Like if you have Darkness Affinity and you have a C-Rank Support, then when you're within three spaces of that person you get, for example, +5 to your Critical Hit Percentage.
3rd Question: ...Maybe? Who do you want to do it? There are a lot of spriters in this thread. Also, what would you want him to look like?

I think 1st question was about if he should be Thunder mage (lower dmg/hit but crit chance) or Fire mage (pure damage)

Bio:

Edwin is the only son of Edgar Westbringer and Fiona Lionheart, one a powerful sage and the other a wealthy merchant, in the duchy of Ys at the great city of Zos which is widely regarded as the centre of magical education in all the kingdoms. Joining the general magical education when he come of age, he showed great promise and potential in the magical arts, and has indeed been known to be especially close with the elemental arts, and with the help of his parents was entered into one of the prime academies of Zos for further training.

Edwin is a bit of a quiet, studious type that has a somewhat secret and strong love of powerful and destructive magics (some might even call him a pyromaniac at heart) and a not so secret love for expanding his magical knowledge and prowess, when it doesn't hurt TOO many people. He has dark brown hair, a nice beard and moustache and typically wears a conical, wide brimmed hat with gold trimming (that's somewhat crooked half way up, but he insists that it adds character) in his favourite colour: Dark red. He wears the typical scholarly robes (again in his favourite colour) but has accessorised with a nice blue scarf around his neck. When he gets angry, his eyes seem to glow like coals from the darkness under his hat, which is quite unsettling and is a tell-tale sign of his elemental prowess.

He is currently travelling around the kingdoms to expand his magical knowledge however he can, and has been known to join up with various forces as a mercenary to both pay the bills and gain more magical knowledge. It's his dream to become a wise and powerful sage, like his father, and to maybe even open a school of his own when he has tired of his travels.
