Technically, I think he assumes it was a trap that killed her. So he thinks she wasn't careful and died because of it.

If you want to crank up his anger to eleven, tell him what you did.

As for the recruiting, well, you guys might of made it to them, but you'd either need to get Derick there with his key, have been bashing on it before they got to the treasure room, or did some weird trading bucket chain with the key since trading is a free action.

This is Haspen we're talking about- the last 2 or 3 non-boss named enemies didn't show any signs of defecting, no reason to suspect these would've been different.

Also trading isn't a free action, it has to be initiated as a unit's action. From the initiation the unit can either give items to or take items from the target. You know. Just like the games.

We also have never tried talking to any enemy before attacking them. I mean, okay, yeah, Adarlan would have just blown us a raspberry, but these guys I doubt.
