I'm about a third done with the project I keep alluding to. Anyone want to see what I have so far, or should I save the reveal for when it's all done? Keep in mind that seeing what I have now may allow you to make suggestions to work with, and since I'm terrible at art of any kind this may be a good thing

Okay! Over halfway done, but I think I'll upload what I have so that I can get some feedback on everything.
I present for your consideration...FEF Battle Sprites! All images are transparent .pngs, so you should be able to grab them and use them any way you wish.

First one I did, for obvious reasons. Also took the longest, but that's because I was learning everything by the skin of my teeth, as it were. Recolored the enemy Soldier sprite (because there were no allied soldiers) and added a cavalier head. I tried my damndest to add a monocle, but could never get it to look right

One of the easiest. Since Tantallos is covered head to toe and a shaman to boot, a recolored Canas was pretty simple. I had to take some creative liberties below the shoulders cuz, you know, I'm working off mugshots here.

And here comes Ami on her diresteed. Troubadour body (and horse, of course) with Serras' head. Not a whole lot to say, although this was the first one I attempted to do more with than simply replace colors.

Since she's the only one with a full-body image (back on page 87 or so, I think), I was able to do the most work with her. Rebecca's body with Louise's slightly-edited head. It had to be that way, because Louise joins the party as a sniper already

Not a whole lot I can say about this one. Sorry Derick, but you're a myrmidon with a myrmidon's nearly-unaltered mugshot. I can only do so much

Added a headband and changed some colors around. This was the first time I tried copying a mugshot into my image program so I could try to make the colors more "authentic".

Took away the mercenary's leather shoulder guard in exchange for filling out that awesome jacket. Also added a belt and gave him black leather boots, because why not?

Mostly a standard cavalier, with a few minor edits. I removed some hair to emulate Olison's balding look, added a low-res version of the circle on his breastplate, and changed the material of the spear shaft to better stand out against the horse (it used to be nearly the same color, presumably wood).

Ah, Adrien. The fighter we all love to hate is the only one to get a Lord sprite
My reasoning was that Adrien's mugshot is the lean one of a cavalier, not the big burly guys who normally wield axes in Fire Emblem. Thus, he gets Hector, sans cape and with edited armor.

The only ones left are Chris, Seyena, and the three soon-to-be-heres. Chris is a slight problem because there is no Spy class in the GBA games, so I'm unsure what to base his sprite on. Seyena is a confusing problem because the place I got all of these sprites does not have pegasus knights for some reason, unless I've simply been struck blind. So...gotta find one somewhere else. The other three will get sprites once they actually join, and once we promote I may be persuaded to make new sprites for everyone

I tried making one of Chris myself, but I didn't like the result due to how complex - and mostly dark gray - his uniform is. If you want to give it a shot, I would suggest the head of a shaman for the hood, a monk's body for the majority of his clothing (but edit out the cape, because he doesn't wear his that way), copy over a leather chestguard from an archer (but since it goes over Chris's left shoulder, you would have to have him facing right instead of left for it to be mirrored properly... probably works thematically to have him facing a different direction than the rest of the party anyway), and then find a cape from somewhere to go over most of his right side.

The problem, as you can see, is that it requires more fiddly little details than looks good on that size of sprite... ^^^; All the same, good work on the rest. ^^^

Actually, let me try again. Maybe I can do something with a male bishop...

Well all the 'spies' in GBA games are using thief battle and map sprites.

I'm using Assasin with white-visor map sprite for Chris Easier to recognize him from Daniel, who uses genuine thief sprite.

That's quite beautiful work.  Oh, and since you asked, one Pegaknight courtesy of the FE Wikia.

Specifically, I believe the one they used for their default on the Pegasus Knight's page is Thite.  They also have sprites for Vanessa, Florina, Tana, and Shanna on their respective character pages, but the differences beyond hair and harness colours aren't that significant, except the inter-game differences due to varying palettes.  Hope this helps.

EDIT: Actually, it might be Fiora.  The colours of the wing don't quite match up with FE6 or 8.  Oh, and of course, Thite has cyan hair, not blue.  Or it could be Shanna.  Ah, well, I can't remember FE7's sprite for Fiora and Farina off the top of my head to confirm, and I suppose it doesn't really matter.  ^_^
