So...

If we let the sage use that Berserk staff, we'll either have to knock the person down or wait five turns before they go back to normal. That rules out letting Ami do it, as we'll need her healing powers to restore the unlucky sod that gets wailed on for five turns/whoever gets Berserked and downed. Unless we use someone like, say, Alexander or Gregor without a lance as a human punching bag, in which case he should be relatively unhurt. This would, of course, be very time-consuming.

The other option is a rush. I don't like this option, as it reeks of suicide. What if Gregor or Valor get Berserked? They have Killing weapons and the accuracy to use them, which could result in a lot of downings.

It just occured to me that Charlotte specializing in Crossbows would be a sentient AA-gun.

3x effective damage against flyers and super crits, which means another x3 damage.

Example: Steel crossbow Charlotte vs Pegasus Rider:
16x3 = 48-armor (let's say 9) = 39x3 = 117dmg. BLAM!

Another one, Silver crossbow Charlotte vs Wyvern Rider:
30x3 = 90-armor (armor 15 but it's no matter) = 75x3 = 225dmg.

Ehhh. On one hand that would be the highest raw damage Char could have gotten, but on the other hand, the main reason I went this path was specifically for that range. I mean, I can sit here all day and keep sniping the mages and such that themselves are long-range magicking Greg and Alex.

It's really a great role and I love it.

Yes, but x-bows have high base damage to compensate for no STR bonus.

Hm... Initially I'd call that a drawback personally, because its very, very possible to beat out an X-Bow in damage if you have decent strength, but with X-Bows you really don't have to give a darn about strength to have that kind of damage, but with bows you'd need to pump your strength a bit to get it around there... X-Bows are very heavy however, but I suppose that can be fixed.

Hm, yeah, I see where you're coming from here. I wouldn't call them the 'end all be all' though, Longbows have a very nice perk of hitting anywhere while Recurve bows can simply crit everything due to their natural crit rate. They're all just good in their own way, crossbows have damage, recurve crits, longbows range.

Also of course bows are OP against fliers, they're effective. So is wind magic, although everybody forgets about that branch of magic. :v
