Consider this: Gregor and Derick have a duel with same quality weapons (Iron, for example) and in neutral conditions (no terrain, supports and so on). On whom you would bet?

Derick the Swordmaster of Doom
Gregor the Tanky Stab-Sentinel

Bah, you won't get forum-shunned. If anything, this is rather what I would imagine Valor, from my understanding of him, would do. Accept the deal in a face-to-face, that is, as to if he actually does it is another thing entirely.

Really, Earnest got lucky that he wasn't trying that on, say, Alexander. He would of had a steel wall trying to crush him then.

That's why I picked Seyena at first. Perfect blackmail target to accost in a dark alley:

>Concerned about well-being of others
>In relationship
>Not real battle strength on her own

With Valor the above points are a little blurry but hey, it's still workable :3

Earnest wasn't lucky, I'm assuming he's smart.

He's also keeping tabs on the group, as you see him mention the relationship between Valor and Seyena multiple times, and so I think he has a profile of nearly everyone.

He wouldn't have gone for someone like Gregor, Olison, Alexander, Derick, etc, because they're too pure and loyal to everyone else and the cause.

However, those like Valor, Riven, and Seyena, for example, would make perfect targets, they're a bit more self-preservation minded, and would more likely betray the group or someone in it, especially if it's in their own interests, such as Valor saving Seyena's life.

You know, this kinda reminds me of the moment in stories where the bad guy tries to bribe/threaten the heroes form their course when they're close to beating the villains. It's always for a similar reason.

Nah, the bad guys threaten the weak link, who ends up screwing everything over and the heroes get captured/killed en masse.

And then he somewhat makes up for it by coming back and unsticking the remaining heroes out of the shithole, bonus points if he brought a band of revolutionaries, bandits, ruggedly handsome thieves, or soldiers of the opposing army to help.

Bonus bonus points if he's the quick-witted foil with a silver tongue and a quick draw with his pistol or weapon of choice.

Guess there's not much I can do to avoid getting plotkilled. Oh well.

Man, that's easy. Just play it out like these scenes normally play out and insist Valor taste the wine first because you heard it was so good and the poor guy's never had a taste of the high life before now. Cue Valor sweating.

Chris has literally zero reason to be suspicious of Valor.

If it comes to that, though, then Valor would have to explain why he doesn't want to drink, then Chris WOULD be suspicious, and then only one person is leaving that situation alive. And frankly it likely won't be Chris since unless he crits first and well, Valor would kill him in a fight.

Your genre-fu is weak tonight. The point is, so long as the exchange is in secret and Chris is unaware, either he or Seyena are guaranteed to die. If, in some way, he (and, by proxy, the rest of the team) were made aware of it, they could possibly protect each other from the assassins or whatever Ernest had in store (similar to Alexandra earlier on).

That all depends on Blade. There is nothing I can do to avoid being plotkilled. :P

You could insist he try a sip of the drink, rousing suspicion when he refuses... of course it's a little OOC, but nowhere near most of the stuff we've done in game so far.
