Consider this: Gregor and Derick have a duel with same quality weapons (Iron, for example) and in neutral conditions (no terrain, supports and so on). On whom you would bet?

Derick the Swordmaster of Doom
Gregor the Tanky Stab-Sentinel

If you kill Arvis right now, you will be just 6 exp short of another level.

Isn't as if Derick is the only one on the team.

Isn't he the best bet to get Arvis dead without wasting another level for the unpromotedes?

We have, by my count, at least 6 people in range.

No matter what, Arvis dies this turn.

Yes, this is what I said.
But this is in case Derick misses.

Yeah, obviously if Derick whiffs, we're bumrushing him like a squad of zergs on a South Korean server.

I still don't really quite understand how Experience works. Do we get experience for hitting enemies, or is it just when we defeat them?

If it's the latter, then there's really no problem here. Apply Derick directly to the forehead, and if that doesn't work, bumrush.

You get experience for most of almost everything. Healing, attacking, killing, etc.

Yeah, that section's kinda confusing though and I'm not sure if Haspen follows it number-by-number.

And I just had a hilarious thought. If Alex could guard an ally once they reach a space in the middle of their action, he could go 3S and Guard Derick before his attack.

Current rates I'm using:

Hitting unpromoted enemy: 2exp
Killing unpromoted enemy: 3exp
Hitting promoted enemy: 3exp
Killing promoted enemy: 5exp
Staves: 5exp so far for all staves you have (applies to Call Magic versions of Heal staff too)
Killing a boss: 30exp
Missing/Receiving a wound without KO: 1exp

Fun fact: If my counting is correct, you already got one full level from healing alone in Ch.9B

Crimson, guarding is support only.

Oh yeah. So many mechanics to remember =V. But it was still a funny thought.

Also with those experience rates it still shouldn't be a problem provided we can oneshot him after Derick does his thing. The question is whether we should spend other people's (primarily Gregor, Raquel and Riven's) actions to bring them into range to affect hit rates and supports.

EDIT: In fact, it's probably not a bad idea for Gregor to go to 11,9 and toss a javelin at him. If it hits it'll soften him up, bring him into Daunt range and provide Derick with a +5 DEF bonus.
