SalmonGod linked them earlier in the thread. Here they are, for your convenience.

So some newscasters caught audio of police talking about burning the house down.  I think I've seen comments that this was just before news crews and helicopters were ordered to leave.

Longer version.  Watching it now.

It does sound exactly as claimed...

The thing is, stopping Dorner doesn't even make the LAPD look good at this point. The only possible reason I can think for anyone to fake that it was him is to prevent the LAPD for shooting at any more innocent people. And I don't think they'd go so far out of their way to do that.

I'm on the fence about where I stand on Dorner. On one hand, he went First Blood all over the place, and that gets some points, as well as the reason he was fighting. But killing people isn't really my preferred method of operation. Still, I do think that the fire was set intentionally (or at least "unintentionally" with something very likely to cause a fire). But I was kind of hoping the body they found was of a police officer that was unharmed to that point and that Dorner got away, just to add on to the already cinematic value of the whole event.

I also heard a couple initial reports saying that they found tracks leading away from the cabin, so the conflicting reports has me wondering. I don't think they'd lie outright though, but the whole situation is FUBAR. I mean, even after Dorner's death (also read that the body was positively identified) they make themselves look bad with the whole reward shenanigans. The money was for information leading to his capture. But once someone fires on multiple cops, let alone kills them, they're as good as dead. He was never going to be captured, and withholding reward moneys due to your own wordplay is balls.

At least this is what I've read so far. My sources could be mistaken.

Killing an innocent woman and her fiance because of issues Dorner had with her father gives him points with you? Are you sure that's what you wanted to say?

In Dorner's case? I'm not going to cheer about that part of his actions, but civilians get killed in conflict and gunfights that they aren't even involved in all the time. At least there was some reason, no matter what you think of him or what he did, for his actions. He made it clear that his fight was with the police and those close to them. It wasn't like he was firing on random people driving down the street.

Anyway, I stated I was on the fence with him for a reason.

You believe his premeditated murder of his fellow officer's family members is more moral than randomly murdering of civilians in the street?  And that's the reason you're in the fence about this?  O_o

Even if there was a reason that still does not make it acceptable, those were innocent people whose only crime was being related to an officer who screwed him over. The fact that he meant to do it makes him even more despicable in my eyes than if it was just a bystander who got shot because he went there with the intent to murder those people and did not just do it accidently in the heat of a firefight

A murderer doesn't get any points for not killing other people.  He wasn't a rebel fighting the injustice of a corrupted system, he targeted innocents only remotely connected to a personal vendetta.  His motivations were petty and selfish and morbidly out of touch.

Really, the only thing admirable about him was his fearlessness, if that wasn't psychosis.

Can we be certain that the civilian casualties were deliberate in his case?

My media rarely mentions random killings in US because they're that often, so I have to ask:

Did they got the crazy police guy yet?

Yes. He specifically went after his "enemy's" family.

Yeah, the coroner is saying that he shot himself in the cabin before the police burned the place down and that the dental records say it's him. While it's not strictly impossible that Dorner had an accomplice in the cabin and had some way to spoof the dental records, it's, uh, pretty unlikely that he did that. But then again, we're talking about the guy who robbed a store to steal a scuba suit to protect him from tear gas that he successfully predicted the LAPD would use on him.
