Holy crap that was what that weird wormhole thing was on the way to the fort.
Good thing there was still a dorf or two of the original 7  alive to tell us that:)

But I won't be doing anything more until later tonight but I will still be doing some of this fort, maby with pictures if I can figure it out.
Thanks for the tutorial.

Alternate timeline.
In your world the fort never fell, in this one it is being retaken (or attempted to).

I feel less bad about ruining the settlement now that you guys are turning things around.  This could end up as a really neat fort.

I hate reclaims, you have to literally un-forbid everything.  Its not your fault joeclark, Whimcrafted was doomed from the start.  Who knew that an innnocent wilderness area could be so hard to settle on...

Hey all, just poking in here for a moment to ask if slots are still open, and if so if I could be signed up for a turn.

I know all the functions of DF, but I'm not very good with challenge forts like these. Still, I've been wanting to try them out and learn, if it's okay with everyone.

Be aware that this fort is on the brink of being screwed over, and we have outlawed save scum.

This is what I did on our rotary before other players also hopped in:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We should decide what to do about the way the turn flow went- Tevish and I ended up going at the same time, with slightly different outcomes, because of confusion over who was up.

Zubb seems to be okay with the idea of alternate timelines- what do others think?  Should we follow both threads, or pick one?

In the chaos, I didn't realize what was wrong:  one of the previous overseers had all of the hatch covers on the first level of upper whimcrafted locked, and with the stair to lower whimcrafted sealed my workers couldn't move between levels.
Yeah, I did that.  The whole of upper whimcrafted is a sieve -- each room has a dozen open doors or hatches through which zombies can spread out into the fortress, so there's no way to defend against them except chase them down.  I would strongly recommend to anyone who tries to defend the upper fort: seal off the entrance(s) and build a proper entrance hallway with traps, drawbridges, or other defenses, where the military can engage with intruders and prevent their entry into the main fort.

What I find interesting is how both saves encountred an FB, but different kinds.  Both webbers though.  You're lucky, last time I encountered a webber he tore apart my 20 man squads that were 3 year trained :/

Wowza, didn't know the fort was in the middle of being Armok's playground! Though that does make it pretty hilarious.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
had to reclaim again for additional supplys

,ostly continued work on the shrine fort

the work on the giant tree farm and the slabbing of the dead is the main workload

got a migrant wave on the 26th of malachite in the year 255 mid summer

going to play till the new year and upload the save
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was the only thing found by a scouting party was this badly spelled peice of zombie juice coverd paper.
Whoever wrote this had much higher hope than the zed infested fort we have seen.
Three generations of zubb have died in the attempt of settleing this fort.
It will most likly be quarantined when this report makes it back to The Board.

Does anybody want this save?
If you do you will have to walk me through the procces.
If not, I understand.
This timeline can just end and I will watch the other one.

My miners made a last stand but they didn't make it.

Reclaims are stubborn to do, especially with ones equivalent to a haunted biome
