So what did happen to the extra people? Dropped like a sack of rocks or did you tie them up in chains and throw them off a bridge?

Bring your pee-jar and prepare your anus.  The Dungeons and Dragons Rapetrain makes no stops.  8 hour express route to hell!
Eat a big breakfast.  Wear a cup.

I fear nothing, nor does Lek !

Isn't Lek debating the best way to 5-step out of danger right now?

Unused players are simply unused.  I encouraged another campaign to form, and would love to play myself as a player, but no one stepped up to be DM.

Which is why I am saying neonivek should form a campaign. He sounds experienced enough, knows teh rulez, we all are dabbling players here, and I don't think neonivek should be so paranoid about making mistakes. :p

On a side note:
We should set the cleric on fire and push him off a bridge, for these achievements:

Also for ease of learning more combat rules and just throwing victims to the wolves, I've debated a sort of side-campaign to do.  It'd be 1-2 hours, maybe 2-4 times a week, and would consist of nothing but dungeon diving.  The plot: The party of 3-5 starts with 1,000 gp between them, anything paizo-published is legal, and the dungeon goes down infinitely.  Includes regular dungeons, caverns, brief extra-planar gates (for some fresh air and open spaces), underground cities, etc.

Might make it a theme dungeon, like 'everyone has to be a dwarf' or 'no magic' or 'at least 1 tower shield to every person' just to add some challenge-flare to it.

The good thing here is there's no plot, so the DM requirements are relatively non-existent.  Lay out some enemies, describe each room, and handle the save rolls.  It'd also be a decent way for new players to encounter some combat, or a DM to get some experience in 'how strong should an encounter be?'

Then yeah I will step in as another DM... I just need to be doing some thinking.

Ah, so it's like a roguelike pathfinder!
If you are going to host those on weekdays, I may join one or two sessions for the hell of it.

That is already done. I am considering the best tactical choices right now.

Ohhhh... So I wouldn't be stealing players >_<

considering how much you are interested, yes.

I may join. Mayhap playing a monk.

Besides, for you it's not "how strong should an encounter be" but "how high can I raise enemy CR so my party survives, but scared shitless and with one less party member"

On a side note:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/achievement-feats/flame-tested-survivor-achievement

Not until the higher levels. I'm all in favor of some slapstick, but only two of these feats would be potentially useful for my character.

Besides, you don't have any fire spells and I do. I also find quite funny the sight of a knight charging while on fire, so watch your horse.

Aw yeah!

I'm completely free on Saturday. Around the time I started playing, it was 12:00 AM, so I'm available at any hour earlier than that... Ah, screw it. I'm available from the Wednesday night to Sunday morning non-stop. Bring it on biatchez!

If you are making another campaign, I'm interested. Can either use the nutty gnome character I made, or make another. Might try a Magus, that sounds like an interesting class.

I am mostly trying to think about what kind of story I am trying to tell and how far I am going to allow my personal preferences enter the game.

Plus it needs to be flexible to allow player input as well.

As well I could even attempt to include a special setting too. Yet the one I am currently working on isn't anywhere close to done so I can't do that. It is a setting where magic was introduced by extra dimensional dieties where every single member of a certain race knows magic, thus, making it very mundane and common place.

No wait I know the perfect setting O_O the one I always wanted to do and I finally have people to do it with O_O!!!

MUST USE ULTIMATE SETTING!

I tried this once.  It was... not my best idea.

Well, I'll let you in on how brokenly easy everything is and how I'm basically having to make up my own rules.

In the current party, there's 6 players, each level 1.  Because of that, your 'average level' is of course 1, and for having 6 players, you get a +1, which makes the 'Challenge Rating' of an encounter to 2.

For that rank, it scores you 600 exp for the encounter.
For 'Epic Rank' challenge you get +3 to CR, which puts you at 5, and on the chart that's 1,600 exp.

A goblin is 135 exp - for 600 exp I could place 4-5 of them.  Goblins are Small creatures carrying poor armor and weapons and poor stats.  The individual CR of a goblin is 1/3 (which btw, 4-5 goblins would sum up to 1+1/3 or 1+2/3 CR, which is short of the 2 CR rating, so whatever).  Using the 'cheat sheet' if we take that we've got 4 of the same creature it's +4 CR, so some sort of 4+1/3 CR?  The numbers get confusing.

Either way, basic point is that your 'at level' encounter would give creatures much MUCH weaker than an individual adventurer, AND there's not even 1 for each player!  Even at 'Epic Level' difficulty, that's about 12 generic goblins, 2 for each and still fairly weak, considering they're little stupid goblins.

For contrast, the encounter I've actually made is 16 goblins and 2 'similar to hobgoblins' (but not quite identical) because I just tossed whatever stats I could find, but they're being played as 'very large goblins'.  In ranking, that's a 6 CR encounter that should be so far above you.  Instead, between Bless, 20 str, Eidolons, and archers, you're doing an incredibly decent job of wiping the floor with the whole fort.

The default difficulty rating is incredibly easy and worthless.  The rankings are on Easy, Average, Challenging, Hard, and Epic, going from -1 to +3 along the line.  You're currently playing on 'Roguelike' difficulty of +4.

Needless to say, I'm making no easy passes here.  If you're assaulting a goblin encampment then it'll be a fight.  If you're not fearing for your life, then it's just free exp.
