Let me calculate how expencive gold platemail is.

6500 gold is how much a platemail suit made ENTIRELY of gold is. It would also weigh 125 units

Surprisingly affordable.

Actually I did the wrong calculation.

14000 gold is how much a Platemail suit made of gold is.

Hmm, my Chaotic Neutral life philosophy allows me to claim ownership to this valuable armor, on the behalf of the whole party. I wouldn't want to burden my friends with such a heavy item. No need to thank me.

My calculations have come up with this calculation:

If an object was originally made of Steel or Iron this is how much it costs per unit to convert it to these materials

Platinum: 2800
Adamantine: 300
Gold: 280
Mithril: 180
Silver: 28
Copper: 2.8

My calculations are likely off. Since coins are likely created to weigh the same in dungeons and dragons. (I got gold by calculating the weight of the armor, then multiplying it by the coin weight formula)

Honestly one thing I tried to find for the longest time is how heavy or big doors and walls and floors are. To see how much, for example, silver floor tiles are worth.

Let me see a 8 foot iron door costs about 12456? that isn't right... Ohh yeah... 8 feet by 2 inches by 3 feet... in square feet... multiplied by 450... then multiplied by 24 (the Iron work cost using Plate as a base)

Got it!

Ok using a Heavy Metal Shield as the base... Iron is 1.3 gold per pound

An Iron door that is 8 feet tall, 3 feet wide, and 2 inches thick is 756 pounds

Or this other calculation suggests 390 pounds which I shall use instead: 507 gold

Iron doors are 500 gold each.

Using my multiplier earlier
Platinum: 1092500 gold
Adamantine: 117500 gold
Gold: 109700 gold
Mithril: 70700 gold
Silver: 11420 gold
Copper: 1592 gold

You forgot to account for the production cost of the shield, methinks.

You forgot to account for the production cost of the shield, methinks.

There really is no way to entirely eradicate that... Though it would be about 1/4th of its cost is material only.

That skews things yet it only means that a metal door is about 1/4th that in true value.

Though it says something about my calculations.

If gold is 100 gold per pound, Silver is 10 gold per pound, and copper is 1 gold per pound... Then copper is worth less then Iron... however Copper has true value and not 1/4th value.

I need to adjust my values.

Platinum: 11200
Gold: 1120
Adamantine: 300
Mithril: 180
Silver: 112
Copper: 11.2

Ahh soo much work!

Do we have a Wizard? Just wondering.

BTW, I hope we will have both Evil and Good PCs in the game. It's fun to be in situations like that.

If they are handled right.

A lot of evil PCs just boil down to "Ha ha ha! I shall now cut the rope bridge and kill you as you sleep! I am so transperantly evil with no other motivations!"

---

Also DANG my calculations are wrong again. The game HAS a calculation for Iron in it that I didn't see... Iron is .1 a gold peice per pound. Or .4 when you make it a good.

Gold: 100 per pound, ???
Adamantine: 300 per pound, 13500 per square foot
Iron: .4 gold per pound, 180 gold per square foot
Mithril: 360 per pound,

Ok I am giving up...

Agreed. Sometimes they choose to be Evil just for the sake of messing with the campaign for fun. Then again, morality of DnD doesn't offer much greyness in morality anyway.

So, I'll start taking roll call for my game shortly, and keeping track of who's already joined.  I'll update first post and list names and what roll of combatant it'll be, for the sake of some players I won't list their actual class or stats, as these can be actually important to the plot.  Namely, I'll be listing their roll (spellcaster, melee, mixed) and their important stat (str, cha, con) and then let the players talk between each other to determine what's actually in what character.
So, what happened to this?
