So long as it 'makes sense' sure.  I'll have to look at Eidolons specificially.  If they're summoned creature types, then that'd e a bit OP.

It's not an actual dragon.  Like Darvi said, it's basically a blank slate I can customize for points I earn by leveling up.  I'm basically a more resilient sorcerer who trades a good portion of his spellcasting ability for a persistent, customized summon

EDIT:  Alright, rad.

You get to spend 20 points. If you have spent too many, lower one or two of your ability scores.

Alright, we currently have these 7 people who've shown interest on this thread:
Cthulhu
greatorder
Novel
Kansa
Leatra
Yoink
Darvi

+2 personal friends of mine.  That gives 9 total, but I doubt all 7 will be up to playing, as Bay12 is oft to fail on.  Cthulhu and Darvi are definitely already making characters, and 1 of my friends has, the other likely will soon.  So we're up to a definite 3.  Probably 5, with my +1 friend, and greatorder floundering on character creation.

NINJA: Greatorder, have you played any DnD before?  If so, then any missing parts you can just scribble on the side of the sheet.  If not, I can write out a noob's guide to character creation.  Either way, I have to afk for 45-60 minutes, so there won't be an immediate response.  If you really can't figure out the tokentrove creator, then just use it as a point-buy calculator and do the rest manually.  It's just a useful tool for many, but not required.  Either way, the creation page gives you limits.  You can't got lower than 7 on a single stat, or higher than... 20, I think.  You'll run out of points before hitting the upper limit anyways.

There already is a noob's guide to Pathfinder. He should look into that.

AD&D is very different.  Some of the basics might carry over but you'd need to learn most of it fresh.

I will also state that I am in no way responsible for any pirated content that gets posted here and my previous posts were merely made in that way for the hell of it.

The core classes for ranger, are fighter and ranger.  Both can be decent with bows and crossbows.  The gunslinger is good with guns, which function similar to crossbows, and cavaliers can probably be decent as well if you build it right.  Paladins too, to a lesser extent, because they need points into charisma for spellcasting, while ranged combat is primarily dex.

Really anyone can use any weapon with varying degrees of penalty, but the 'standard' is Ranger, with the 'odd choice' being Fighter.  A decently built fighter can use a bow as a secondary weapon.

Longsword/Shortsword combo's a classic for TWF-Rangers.

Yeah, rangers can be bow-centered or melee-centered.  A fighter with the right feats would easily beat the ranger at either game, but rangers get a lot of other toys to keep things even.

EDIT:  How strict are we gonna be about mundane gear?  Should I buy torches and rations and bedrolls or are we abstracting that stuff?
