Creating smileys

How does one do such?  I want a 'knee deep in it' smiley/gif.

Gifs are a bunch of pictures in succession.Just like a video.

You can use Microsoft Paint or Photoshop to gradually animate this smiley by taking pictures of it and using an online gif maker to assemble it.
Or use adobe/java or something of the sort.Not too good with those personally.You could also code them if you know coding.

 I would have recommended GIMP so you wouldn't have had to use a separate online program...but I'm actually posting to ask; where is that from, and why does it look like it's losing hitpoints from turning around?

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

^this dude probably doesn't use Photoshop. Photoshop actually has a timeline with frames (and has for a long time) and can export animated gifs from right within it. GIMP can do this too, it just requires each frame to be a separate layer, so it's more annoying.

I have photoshop!  Apparently I'm notusing it to its potential. . .

It is.  The Yeti is currently ripping my spleen out and throwing me around like a lasso.  The roof is stopping me from flying away and apparently the hearts (me gaining health due to collecting (my) blood) just keep rising.  So the game over screen looked like that, ufos and yeti happily wandering around. . .

Eh... The interface is a closed book to me.
I grew up on a healthy (and FOSS) diet of GIMP.
