It's fine that Obama is making that statement, but it doesn't help in the immediate instance unless they're broadcasting it to the people rioting.

At this point, the police is pretty justified in clearing things out.

I saw them doing that live.  Nearly flipped it when the police finally decided it passed into tear gas territory.
