You come into this thread time and time again saying "republicans yay!" (oh wait sorry, you are a "libertarian" not republican) and then act like were stupid when we point out that you are nothing but a cheerleader.

"democrats yay" is the chant of a fairly noticeable part of this thread

why can't he be saying "republicans yay"

did he actively refuse to have a discussion with you regarding the issues the yayness was coming out of/directed at that you're trying to exclude him from the conversation based on his beliefs, or was that an issue of the discussion heating up uncomfortably

define this "we" by the way, you and who else

Hey, you guys. ^ Yawn. I tire of such silliness. There should be a bit more PMs if things are so personal.

At What Cost a Carrier?

Very interesting paper I came across regarding cost effectiveness of carriers. Has a neat way of simplifying the reasoning as well. Rather quick read.

Quote
An innovative culture has characterized the U.S. Navy throughout its history. The carrier had its day, but continuing to adhere to 100 years of aviation tradition, even in the face of a direct challenge, signals a failure of imagination and foreshadows decline. Money is tight, and as the nautical saying goes, the enemy has found our range. It is time to change course.

The Tejanos certainly did/do. That's sort of irrelevant to the overall argument, though. If it makes you feel better, you can ignore the "again".

That's not actually supporting your point.

The world isn't a morality play of light and darkness and things that are good for that side establishes it's strength like LOTR.  That a demographic shift has happened does not indicate that a completely unrelated demographic shift is going to happen in an appreciable timeframe.

You come into this thread time and time again saying "republicans yay!" (oh wait sorry, you are a "libertarian" not republican) and then act like were stupid when we point out that you are nothing but a cheerleader.

...Why are you yelling at me over the least significant part of my post, a semantic error at best, ignoring every single other point made, while simultaneously calling me a Republican troll? I didn't know this thread was politically segregated. I don't ever recall being a card carrying member of the Republican Party either, I just happen to partially agree with them on some issues, which make me a Republican the same way Obama supporting higher taxes on the wealthy makes him a Communist.

GreatJustice and mainiac cannot co-exist.  They're like a divorced couple.  One cannot speak without the other feeling obligated to object in a manner that begs for endless shallow circular bickering.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Because of his habit of making logically fallacious arguments to provoke flamewars.  He knows that most people on this forum are liberals but says baseless things like Obamacare being a wedge issue for the youngs, then turns around and accuses me of nitpicking.  This isn't the first time he's done it, it's about the hundredth.

To be fair though, this thread is so damned Liberal it smells like that atari jaguar I bought on ebay that came wrapped in bin bags. At the time I wished my house had one of those old fashioned smoking rooms so I could open it without worrying about the wallpaper becoming mildly psychoactive.

But you fellows can have your Democrat/Republican battle. I for one am going to follow Steven Seagal's Arizona governorship bid very closely.

Yeah, this is about the hundredth time I've made an argument and been attacked personally for daring to brook any disagreement. You know it's possible to respectfully disagree on an issue, right? I don't see how that is a "baseless statement" when I literally provided a poll proving exactly what I said, which you ignored in favour of yelling at me for misplacing an "again" in my sentence.

I have to tell you, just reading his positions make me cringe. Fortunately he has only considered (and a lot of people consider). But in any situation, I don't expect much out of the "Papers Please" state.

Anyway, McAuliffe of Virginia has been sworn in as governor, pledging to "work with Republicans"; and West Virginia continues to face a chemical spill depriving over 300,000 people tap water.

Steven Seagal is apparently considering running for governor of Arizona on a decidedly pro-border control Republican ticket.

It's not part of an election or anything, but just today the Net Neutrality fight rose from the dead.

Quote
[U.S. Court of Appeals] said that the FCC couldn't impose those regulations because it failed to classify broadband providers as "common carriers," which are private companies that provide infrastructure services that are easily monopolized — for example, telephone or power companies.

The FCC, however, classified broadband providers as "information services," like Google and other Internet companies, which are subject to less stringent regulations.

Thanks to that distinction, the court ruled that the FCC had overstepped its authority with the Open Internet Order, a decision that FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler disagrees with.

Oh hey, FCC, good job fucking yourself over, eh?

The only way I've ever figured that broadband providers were able to get out of the common carrier designation is bribes and more bribes and maybe some blackmail or threats.

And now the FCC Chairman is upset that he doesn't have to follow his own rules and managed to back himself into a corner through his organizations stupidity?

Good jaerb, dude.
