The bill increases spending by $10 Billion, undoing part of the sequestration, so there's that.

Also, there's gotta be provisions for dragging Senators back in early. Right?
Yes. In fact, I believe it was used twice earlier in the crisis.

Several senators were on their planes by the time of that tweet. By now, probably a good proportion of them are (maybe even half, which would mean they wouldn't be able to do business, as per the Constitution). And there are two and a half hours left; unless said senator is from Delaware, Maryland or Virginia, they won't be able to make it back by midnight.

[EDIT: The House gave unanimous consent to vote on the Senate deal, without sending it to committee. That was 10 minutes ago. We'll see how this continues...]

So they've fled the city immediately after passing their resolution? Honestly though, I doubt there will be much more than some token resistance to the thing. Hell, Boehner said he'd let the thing come to a vote, and even Cruz said he wouldn't try to delay it, IIRC. We're in the clear until February, it seems.

So the senate vote was apparently 81-18. Quite the margin there. :P

It's like a teaparty headcount.

Last I checked the vote, if every Dem votes Yea, there are enough Republicans to put it through. Let us hope.

As of 12 minutes ago, the House has started voting. Also, Cory Booker has won the New Jersey special Senate election.

Well, now Obama just needs to sign it.

And that's it! But don't worry, this just raises the debt ceiling until February, so we'll get another crisis then. That one might be more heated, because representatives will start going up against their primary challengers starting in early March.

What's bizarre about this is that everyone came out of this with egg on their face, but somehow, nobody did. Ted Cruz has proven his conservative cred. John Boehner has gotten through the process without fear of a coup. The Tea Party aren't raising a ruckus. We'll see what happens to the GOP's moderates.

285-143. What was that Boehner was saying earlier about not having the votes?
It'd be a hell of a thing if he didn't, huh.
Obama would then execute the coup-de grace by posting a link on his website that says he signed it, but that actually is a rickroll, and then having Press Secretary Jim Carney perform "Trololo" at the PRess conferance ending at 12:01.

Let Obama sign it first.
