.....remind me how this guy was elected sheriff again?

He gets re-elected time and time again because he is exactly what his constituents want... Someone willing to put scary brown people into concentration camps.

What baffles me is Joe Arpaio who is supposedly this tough-on-crime dude if you like jaywalk or something seems to have a soft spot for paedophiles, rapists and wife-beaters.

C'mon if you're going to be tough on crime, actually arrest the wrong-doers, not trump up charges against people for having the wrong skin color.

I think if I were told I had three months to live, he'd be on my hitlist as a vigilante, if I had such a hitlist.

On my version of that I've got Kim Jong-un, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Aleksandr Lukashenko, Vladimir Putin, Alistair Darling, a few non-famous people, Uhuru Kenyatta, the Westboro baptist church, many leaders in the church of scientology and more I can't think of.

I've also got a tombstone smashing list that includes a number of Japanese war criminals.

He's the sheriff.

So the "Arizona Republic investigation" wasn't official, then. I'll need more information then that.

No because Arpaio is the sheriff. The Arizona Republic is a newspaper I think, but that was last year. The article I linked was about the results of a new, internal, investigation.

And the reaction so far?

Will they also do that for the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th etc?

I have long supported the idea that men who attempt to enact laws that are themselves a crime should be held accountable for it.

So, uh. Is the ATF(&E?) like disbanded or something in missouri? How's that working out? I'd figure the F part would at least be kinda' having problems functioning in a state where their job is apparently criminalized...  looks like there's a few other states trying that, too.

I find myself kinda mixed on the subject of Gun Control. I do recognize that the US has incredibly high death rates from firearms or a first world country. Obviously something needs to be done. On the other hand I live in a state with extremely lax gun control laws, which I personally enjoy, owning several guns myself which I use for hunting and target shooting. Almost everybody I know owns several guns, and that's not an exaggeration in the least. I kinda feel it should be a state issue rather than federal.
