Also, Protesters are apparently marching on Scott Trade Center...while there's an ongoing hockey game.  Possibly with intent to interrupt it or shut it down.  If true, this is going to be interesting.

Those comment streams ARE awful, but you have to remember that the internet gives voice to the most radical and moronic people anywhere about anything. And when you take a big nation with a lot of internet-users like the states, that means you get some real nutjobs who aren't actually dominating the national sentiment.

Warren Buffet is giving his support to Ready For Hillary PAC.
Quote
The Oracle of Omaha gave the maximum donation allowed to Ready for Hillary last quarter, his first-ever check to the sort of independent political groups that he's scorned in the past.
This is literally the biggest, most important news the Hillary camp has ever gotten. Noone cares if rank and file senate democrats love her. Noone cares if the democratic base likes her. I don't care what preliminary polls say at this point.

But the #1/2 investor in the world, depending on your criteria, is supporting Hillary Clinton. This is a game changer for her entire race if Warren is willing to be vocal during the election season. I will gladly await the cries of Warren Buffet not being a real capitalist by jealous republicans who can't get wealth creators on their side.

Warren does not do things like this. This is a sign that he seriously doubts the ability of the republicans to field a candidate that wouldn't destroy the economy.

I really wonder what's going to happen if she doesn't decide to run. If she does, the race is almost certainly a lock for her, but if she doesn't...

(And if she doesn't run now, that's it for her. She'll be as old in 2016 as Reagan was in 1980.)

Oh, fuck this. I am not voting for Hillary Clinton, she's even worse than Obama. Damn you Warren Buffet.

Why all the hype for a black president?  Why not an Asian president?

... Why can't I think of any Asians, male or female, that have a career in politics?

What's wrong with hillary? I mean, I know she's not really all that liberal, but surely she's better than anything the republicans can field?

She's the avatar of centrist Democrats, and the wife of the man who made them the defining force of the party. She loves censorship and only helps liberal stances when they're in a safe majority. She's basically a busybody PTA leader as President of the United States. No, just no. I know she will fold to the neocons.

Oh yeah, regarding Hillary, guess who has had the second highest number of lobbyists under them? Hillary with 52 or so, the only one with more is Ted Kennedy I think.

I saw that several weeks ago on a CNN bit about lobbyists, was surprised she had so many. I'm now less sure about voting for her.

I'm trying to find a source of the number of lobbyists under someone.

DC would probably elect a black lesbian as mayor but I'm unaware of any such candidates at the moment.  Outside DC I have a hard time seeing one getting far.

Christ, another election where I'll get the choice between voting for the lesser of two evils, or not voting at all. I really don't want another one of the political dynasty running things again. But I guess it's unrealistic to hope for a not-competely-bought-and-paid-for democratic candidate. I thought Obama was that guy, but whooooo boy was I wrong.

It really would suck all the joy out of finally getting our first female President. Although if I'm honest, I'd like to see her win only to hear the political hate machine do the dance around her gender.

There's always hope for Elizabeth Warren, but she's too good at projecting an image of moonbattery everywhere other than New England and the Bay Area that the race would be quite tight unless the Republicans went full retard with their nomination.

nenjin, you've heard that Jeb Bush might run, right? That's another dynasty right there.

If he becomes the nominee, I'm not voting for him on the simple fact that we don't need another of the bush family in. The last two republican presidents were of the Bush family, so, how about someone else?

There were also rumblings that Romney might try to run, though his wife has said that she doesn't want to go through all that stuff again.

Really though, I want to see what ELSE the democrats have to offer besides hillary.

I hope theres some good third party candidate around, but we all know the chances that third party candidates have.

Well, I'm currently waiting to see who will be the Libertarian nominee. Last time, it was Gary Johnson, who actually wasn't that bad. Hell, he would have made a rather decent president.

...my hopes aren't that high, though. With any luck, it'll just be a nutjub isolationist goldbug.

Not sure if theres anybody more isolationist than Ron Paul.
