It seems the national debate over police militarization is taking one step further out of the shadows as an ACLU report about the use of SWAT teams has been going viral, and as they file a lawsuit against the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council because the majority of SWAT teams in the state are claiming they're exempt from records requests because they're set up as private corporations, even though they're still paid for by taxpayer money.

Privatizing police is completely against the word and the spirit of the law. Private policemen are bandits. They should be dealt with.

Soccer is what's really destroying America

What a beautiful parody piece. Maybe I can finally start to appreciate Ann Coulter, now that she understands what a Satire is.

• Soccer is like the metric system, which liberals also adore because it's European. Naturally, the metric system emerged from the French Revolution, during the brief intervals when they weren't committing mass murder by guillotine.

1. Like the Metric System, Football/Soccer promotes Liberal and French values, like team coordination, and flip-kicks. However, in no way like the Metric System, the sport is a widely accepted refinement on similar versions created by regional cultures and peoples, which has been vastly improved, standardized, and is now seen all over the world, except in select few xenophobic countries.

• It's foreign. In fact, that's the precise reason the Times is constantly hectoring Americans to love soccer. One group of sports fans with whom soccer is not "catching on" at all, is African-Americans. They remain distinctly unimpressed by the fact that the French like it.

2. Black people don't like French people. Coulter doesn't like French people. Therefore, Coulter is Black.
3. It's good that we can make assumptions about people based on their ethnicity still. Man, what if we lived in a world where Black people could like Football/Soccer? Or what if Black people could also be Liberal, or even French? What a crazy hypothetical world that would be!

• You can't use your hands in soccer. (Thus eliminating the danger of having to catch a fly ball.) What sets man apart from the lesser beasts, besides a soul, is that we have opposable thumbs. Our hands can hold things. Here's a great idea: Let's create a game where you're not allowed to use them!

4. For anyone who is confused by this comment, Goalies aren't actually playing Football/Soccer, since hands and catching are involved. They're just sorta on the side. Goal-keeping is kinda like cheerleading, right?
5. Everyone knows that primates and birds, and many marsupials, reptiles, rodents, and other mammals prefer to play Handegg, "The Football For Things With Thumbs and Souls". (Unless, of course, they're French birds, marsupials, etc.).

Ann Coulter shows every sign of being quite legitimately insane, and her popularity is plummeting, based on the difficulty in selling her books secondhand. (Except for her and Rush, most political books tend to sell well even after they seem irrelevant. If nothing else, they're great for trend analysis.) She's unpopular enough that we have her on our "don't bother" list.

I don't think Ann Coulter is insane. I think she's just not as bright as she thinks she is and she's not a very good polemicist. That piece is a polemic; it is not satire but it's not 100% serious in that it is written in a way to provoke.

A quick look at some of his highlights, but that's only some relatively minor recent ones.

Back in 2007 he was invited to speak at CPAC about his 'religious persecution' (the classic projection model) as a military chaplain but was blocked after other chaplains protested. Yeah, too dishonest for CPAC. A month later he was discharged for appearing at a political protest at the White House in uniform. Oh, and he has made it a habit of issuing imprecatory prayers against people who have called him out. That is, praying that God curses them or that they die. One more quick example.

Geeze, that guy is just, crazy. He would absolutely wreck the Republican Party if he manages to get elected in November.

Because it honestly went about the best that could be expected. It's a narrow (if extremely poorly justified) judgement that orders the government to cover the cost of those treatments itself so they are still available to people, only allows the company to opt out of 4 out of 12 different contraceptives, only applies this to "closely held" companies and only in that one particular area. (those 4 contraceptives)
