My apologies, my memory was slightly off. They were supporting the ban on gay adoptions passed back in July, not the newer custody law that has yet to be passed. Though I wouldn't be that surprised if they supported that as well.

• Obama has refused Boehner's 6-week extension deal.
• We are somehow also moving to a resolution, though slowly and with bumps, largely around a Maine republicans plan to extend the ceiling by 6 months, set a plan to reopen the government and let republicans nip at the heel of the ACA by delaying a Unpopular tax associated with it. Obama has stated it is not "core" to the law, and does not directly fund it, so it's okay (it was passed under the logic that given our debt, every new benefit comes with a tax. Obviously, this logic did not last long before the Tea-Party arose to power).
• The House is angry with Senate Republicans for this plan, and inter-house and intra-party sniping is at all time high.
