Messages to Bloomberg, The guy in charge of Bloomberg's Political Gun Control group, and now Obama. All contain references to gun control as well as vague threats. Bloomberg's was intercepted, but with a small leak leading to a few worker's needing minor hospitalization. The one to his Gun-control Advocate was opened by the man himself, but he seems fine. Obama's was obviously intercepted. The letter's were apparently from Louisiana.

The father of Ibragim Todashev, the gentleman who was shot in Florida recently by the FBI, claims that his son was actually executed by the FBI; shot six times then in the back of the head. You may laugh and scoff at it but at least he actually has "photographic evidence" of a gunshot wound to the back of his head, visible in the links. That sets him apart from the crazy ramblings of the Tsarnaev brothers' father Anzor. Still pretty wild stuff but interesting nevertheless.

Also, Jean Charles de Menezes was shot seven times in the head with hollow points while restrained by London Metropolitan Police when they thought he was a suicide bomber, largely because he had "mongolian eyes" and therefore matched descriptions of the real suicide bomber they were after. Shit happens.

Police always shoot like this, it's how they are trained- to keep shooting until the 'threat is gone'. Since totally stopping a person dead in their tracks means hitting the spine or brain or something, police shooting incidents almost always involve a lot of shots fired in a short period of time. Also, their aim generally sucks, handguns are inaccurate when they are panicked and start shooting wildly, like anybody else. So any shooting involving police or people trained like them has a 'hail of police bullets' and their targets and everything around them riddled with bullets. So it always looks like excessive force, but they are trained like that for a reason.

So basically I imagine a bunch of FBI agents flipped out and shot the guy to pieces when he flipped over the table and presumably presented some lethal threat to them.

If there were any shots after he hit the ground, then it was unquestionably murder and the FBI agent should be given a fair trial and then executed.

See, this kind of thing is what gets people into trouble. The article said he was shot 7 times and once in the head. Specifically, the top of his head if you look at the photo. Somehow these things always gets conflated into statements like '7 shots in the back of the head'.

I'm not sure I even approve of the current immigration bill. My two big gripes are that it completely ends the diversity visa program and makes amnesty dependent upon military service if one cannot enter or complete college.

Increasingly, part of me keeps hoping it, or some other of the umpteen and half score things Capitol Hill needs to deal with, will crash massively. It'll make the Republicans look horrible, and lord knows they could use a shock to their system, and whatever we'd otherwise get will be completely milquetoast anyways...

...but I know that's not a good way to see the situation.
