Alec frowned after giving another look at the tank. He's not sure what else he can do to it beyond fire at what he hopes are weak spots and hope for the best. "Copy." Alec confirmed David's statement and changed to channel 4. Or at least he hopes he did, the thing's small and his fingers are big. Plus he doesn't exactly have the best track record for handling this damn thing. "Right channel?"

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

"Yes, perfect." David's voice once again stated over the communicator. "But keep your voice down. Wouldn't want that Rikki girl overhearing, would we? Don't answer, rhetorical question." David's voice stated. "Alright. I suppose I should get to explaining things. You have been in contact with Ezekiel before, right? No, I know the answer to that question as well. And you removed the agimat, right? Ah, sorry. That was also rhetorical. Well, you are in a hurry, so I will make this fast. Rikki isn't able to see the soul gems due to magical interference. Her sensing power is like hearing or eye sight, a loud sound or bright flash makes it so she cannot see. However, you have your mind welded to the man who created the magic which created the monster. So instead of a sense like hearing, you should be able to sense the magic like it was your own arm. Just close your eyes and focus. You have done a little of this before, when you are fighting the borrow wright. Just focus one what you are looking for...." David's voice finished.

A little static goes over the communicator, before you hear a new voice. "Connection reestablished." Rikki stated. "Damn, second time this mission. You could think they would get us some magically backed communicators or something." David blared, as he exited from his cover to get a better angle of the floor directly above you.

Alec thought on what he heard. Was that actually David? Was it not? The large man wasn't exactly happy with the idea that he has to actually question this. Who or what ever told him that knew what they were talking about from what he can figure though, and at the least it could be worth a shot but... What in the world is going on? If this is indeed whatever caused his voice to speak over the Comm, what or who is doing this? Why? It's helping him, that much is for certain. Because of his deal of sorts with Ezekiel?

The man isn't comfortable with what's going on, that much is plain, but there isn't much he can do or speculate on in the middle of a combat zone. Alec takes a deep breath and tries to... He doesn't know, sense something? How in the world can someone do something they've never done before? He take a look at one of the SWORD drones, as thorough a look as he can give it straining his eyes and ears even although for what he doesn't know. He concentrates on it, picturing it in his mind and... He guesses wherever the soul gem is, is glowing or shining or something, he doesn't know. Because other wise prospects of dealing with that damn tank isn't good without some inventive thinking.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You start to focus, attempting to sense the things somehow. It is really difficult. Your still in a war zone. Your still getting shot at, as a volley of bullets overhead reminds you. You quickly change locations again, and look at a relatively nearby SWORDS robot, which somehow had gotten itself upside down. It was like a turtle, desperately moving its tracts futilely. You squint at it, trying to...sense what you are supposed to be sensing. For a few seconds, nothing happens. You start to feel something in the back of your head. Perhaps all that squinting gave you a headache? The feeling gets stronger. You start to hear voices in your head again. Laughing. Ezekiel's insane laugh. The screams roaring around you turned to laughter and joined the voice in your head. The world around you began to get dark, illuminated only by small lanterns of light. The tanks, the cells, the walkway all faded to black. The only thing left was yourself in little dots. The little dots were colorful, with reds and greens and yellows and purples, and they were all laughing to match that laugh inside your head. Are those the soul gems? On top of that, your skin feels sickly slimy and cold, as if you were a frog with a sweating problem. The gun in your hand can't be felt, it is as if it had vanished with the rest of the world. The smell of blood and sulfur replaces the disgusting scents of before, almost a welcome change. It is as if your world had changed, replaced by this mad world. Your every sense was replaced with a twisted version of itself. And not just the primary ones. Your equilibrium was spinning around and around. You feel starving and sated. Thirsty and full. Tired and wide awake. You also feel like you are about to sneeze.

Most importantly, however, you feel like you have received a hundred new limbs. Each and every one of the laughing dots was a part of you. You could tell their exact location. You could look toward each one. You could hear its individual laugh. You felt like you could even move them, though your attempts just made your head spin further then it was. Your attempt worked, somehow.

Alec didn't entirely know what to think of his discovery. Primal fear was one solid response his mind juggled as an idea of a proper idea, but after a bit of deliberation decided that maybe he shouldn't take the easy route here. He didn't feel right here, nothing here felt right, or perhaps more correctly everything felt wrong. His mind reeled at the changes it was going over, trying to cope to its surroundings but failing spectacularly.

A voice in his head, his voice, yelled at him to get a grip, now isn't the time for this, and with that he tried to formulate a plan in his head. If each of theses... Things were the souls, then he knows where they are. But he has no idea where anything else is however. In fact he he's not even sure if he's holding his gun anymore, gingerly keeping his hands in the same position for fear of accidentally firing in... Reality? If he could make some sense in the darkness... He slowly tried to move his hand holding the fore of his gun, trying to see if he can still feel the boundaries of it.

But he stopped, almost growling to himself. That won't work, won't work at all! He tried to think of something, someway he could use this, before an idea struck him. Maybe... If he can move them, they can be interacted with, right? He tried to calm himself down, center himself or something, anything. He focused what he could on a gem, trying to move it and ignore the spinning he was felling, to have it try to smash into another gem or soul or whatever.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You focus on the gems the best you can for the situation, trying to get them to....whatever it is you can manage to do to them. Your body continues its unnatural rhythm, you see several move at one time, from the tank below. Did you manage to move them? You keep trying, to move them separately, trying to...smash them? As the horrible feelings continue, it becomes more and more difficult to even think. But they are moving, still moving, if you can just stay focused....

You are suddenly pulled out of the dark world, back to the slightly lighter world you know and love. Something is pulling on your legs, and you are lying on your back, looking toward the ceiling. There is a loud burst of gunfire mixing with the screaming, and large holes filled the area you were second before. Though your in a strange situation, you notice something almost in the back of your mind. The several long cylinder used as light bulbs were not giving off any light. Not only that, but they had all been destroyed by gunfire. It should be completely dark in here, though it is still reasonably light. You don't have any time to finish those thoughts, due to being in a fire fight and all.

"Breathing stable, heartbeat elevated but not untypical for this situation. No damaging injuries visible. Further scanning blocked...." The person pulling you by your legs announced, crouching down to examine your body. "He appears to have awakened." she continues, leaning your gun next to you. "Alec! Are you OK! What the hell happened!? Did you just take a nap in the middle of a gun battle with magical tanks?" David's worried voice came over the communicator, "God, I am surrounded by freaks in more way then one....." David continues, now showing worry for himself.

"I... Think so? Don't know..." Alec could only respond to David, scratching his head as he lumbered back up on his feet, taking his gun again. He's curious about why he can still see, not sure where the source of light is coming from but, well, gunfight. More important things on his mind right now. "Don't worry about me now." The large man regained his faux composure, still not liking their situation in the slightest. How in the hell are they suppose to kill this... Freak? The thought that they were trapped souls in pain did little to better his mood, tinging his anxiety and fear with anger.

No use making himself useless. Alec moved to the best cover he could, trying to regain sight of the 'magical' tank. Another weakspot to try and hope to hit, chip it down however he can. When sighted, he'll bring his gun up to bear and try to take aim and fire at whatever weak spot that he can spot, anything that looks like it might hold something like a soul gem.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You look down your sights in your new position, taking aim at were you think you remember the soul gems being. It is difficult to pinpoint, the worlds were so different...You release a volley of bullets, creating five puffs of smoke in the tank's armor, leaving small holes but no noticeable damage as the turret slowly turns around, looking for new prey.

"Damn...." David said, as he fixed a jam. "Don't you have something to wipe them out with? A CRUCIFIX or something? Tommy isn't even a guardian, and he has like half a dozen of those things...." "Negative. As I have informed you before, I was uniformed of our location. I was only informed that it would be inside. I had equipped myself and prepared myself for close combat against infantry. CRUCIFIX are unusable in tight spaces." "...You brought a grenade launcher for close combat?" "That is classified." "Wha....Ill drop it. So you didn't bring anything that would benefit us here? I guess I am not one to talk, my assault rifle can only get the little ones....We just need a bigger gun." "Optimally, we would capture arms from fallen enemies after preforming necessary checks." "...You want to just pick up a tank turret and go running around with it?" "Optimally, we would capture the contact without destroying anything but the soul gems. If we were capable of seeing it, it would be simple. At the present time all usable arms have been destroyed utterly." David then sighs. "Then is there some other way to go about this? It isn't like we are in a hurry to kill it. We could just go to the next room and..." he stated, before being interrupted by a burst of fire from the other tank.

Alec was silent as he heard the two's back and forth, thinking. He couldn't personally do much in that... State, when he can see them, but he can see them. Maybe... "I could see them. Earlier. Don't know how. Hard to though." The man sighed as he looked at the tank down below, weighing his options. Either they move onto the next room and this thing bites them in the ass later, or they deal with it now. Too late to drag back what he said also, so no where else but forward. "I can try again, point them out, you destroy them."

[I think this is the most Alec's ever spoken in this entire thing.]

"Is that the factor that had caused your knockout?" Rikki asked. "Thine it would be impossible to communicate in that state, you would be functionally useless." She finished, looking at you while crouched under cover. "Well, not necessarily." David's voice replaced Rikki's, "People can typically move their eyes if they are having a lucid dream, and if he is in control of himself enough to look around, he may be able to control his eyes. If he can, you could probably just peel open his eyes and see were he is looking." he continued. "That would likely put him in great danger, in order to fully utilize the tanks armor, I would likely need to be in point blank range. It would be unlikely that I am able to protect him fully in this state." Rikki stated, as if to emphasize the point several robots below continued to scream and shoot bullets everywhere. Everyone, including you, moved to a new piece of cover. For some reason, everyone is talking a lot in this fire fight. "It's not like he is much safer up here..." David finished.

Hm. Alec didn't figure that he was out cold for the whole of that strange endeavor. And while they could move on... The large man isn't comfortable with the idea of leaving people in agonizing pain when they could possibly do something to help alleviate that. He admits to not always respecting his own personal safety when trying to help others, why start now? "What needs be done. I can try to stay up."

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

....Does it feel like this robot ark has been going on too long? It feels like it has lasted months.
--------------------------------------------

Rikki nods. She gently sets the grenade launcher to the floor, before turning to you. "Please activate your sensors." she stated, as she turned to you. As you take a deep breath and try returning to that bizarre state. Rikki puts the rifle in one hand, and picks you off the ground with the other, grabbing your uniform. She easily lifts you several inches off the ground, before jogging toward the edge of the walkway, jumping over the sheet you had been using as concealment toward the enemies below. The last thing you see before your senses abandon you is a pit full of blood, body parts, and three kinds of murderous robots forming a massive hoard. Apparently your jumping set them off, as half the turrets and smaller weapons point toward you as if in slow motion.

Then darkness. Multi color flames. You are no longer falling, you now feel like you are lying on the ground again, your machine gun still in your hand. It was much easier to enter this time. Is that a good thing? In any case, your mind is scrambled, again your world completely transforming into something alien. You take a second to even remember the purpose of bringing this on yourself, before you begin looking around. Are you out cold again? You try to think of a way to communicate. David said something about staring, maybe if you just look at one of the globs of soul gems to see if Rikki gets the message?

You glare at one of the gems, a blood red flame in the center of what you think is the Black Knight. Time goes by. It could be seconds, hours, days. Your sense of time left with the rest. Suddenly, the red gem is gone, simply snuffed out. Did it work? Quickly, you set your sights on another of the multitude, a dark green gem. Much more quickly, it dissipated. You continued to select new targets, an ocean blue, a salt white, a dark black... you simply gaze at them, and within an instant they vanish. After several targets, you started to feel something as each one was destroyed. It felt like a part of you was falling asleep, a part that you don't even have. It was as if the extra arm you feel had gone numb. But you manage to continue acting as spotter, finally snuffing out the last yellow gem. For several seconds nothing happens. You are at a loss of what to do now, there is no longer any target for you to look at. Thinking quickly, you look at a far off chocolate colored gem, hoping your comrade receives the message. Apparently it works well. What feels like minutes later, the gems are cut down. The stinging numbness gets worse, as all around you the lights flicker out...

You try to get out of this world, having completed your mission. The feeling in your phantom arm get worse, with new sensations joining the strange cocktail you already have. It feels like the nonexistent arm is being filled with needles, scratched with sandpaper, and being burned all while falling asleep. You try to wake up, but are not sure how. You desperately try everything you can to get out, but if anything find yourself pulled farther in. As more and more lights are snuffed out, the limb feels like it entered your body. The strange sensations you had before are replaced with strange and exotic pain. On top of the list you already had, it now feels like your stomach has a toothache, your teeth have headaches, and your brain has a stomach ache. How can you get out of this?! The lights are almost all gone. It feels like you a re being torn apart bit by bit, like your every body part had been attached to a horse and sent in opposite directions. Could you die here, if you don't manage to get out!? Three gems left. Red, white, and blue. The red gem vanishes. The blue gem vanishes. The white gem...

"....but deliver us from evil." Davids voice spoke up on the communicator, among the loud sound of a big gun. You open your eyes. The feeling is gone. Instead, you now only feel like you have a hang over. You open your eyes slowly, seeing a severed head across from you. Below the severed head is the side of a tank. "Our Father in heaven..." David begins to pray again, as the gunfire stops. "He has awakened." Rikki stated, as she looks out from the top of the tank.

[The pacing feels good to me, we're just both busy so it seems like it's moving slower than it is.

Alec grimaced as he gritted his teeth and focused, slowly pushing himself into a sitting position. Hung over or not, he has a job to do. "Unpleasant." He simply let his face do the talking for him, now moving himself into a standing position.

When he has his feet back under him, he looks around at the scene around him. "Worked." It wasn't so much a question as a statement, forcing up a smile for the two in front of him. Gurgh, he still ached from whatever the hell just happened to him, but to hell if he's going to show them. He has to look strong, as always, wouldn't want to worry them. "No problems?"

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

"No problems." Rikki confirmed. "...Your both out of your mind." David stated stoically, "Alec, your heart stopped this time. You almost died. You should have died, at the very least you shouldn't be as well as you look. I don't know how you did that, Alec, but I wouldn't do it again if I was you."

Rikki popped her head back in the tank, turning the turret around. The large cannon fired several times at a door to the back, putting several large holes in an incredibly thick steel door. David quickly makes his way down the broken stairs, as the large gun behind you continues its onslaught. Finally, Rikki exits the tank and moves toward the broken door, after David hands her the grenade launcher he somehow managed to get down the stairs. "Readied door A 4-1" Rikki stated over the communicator, changing frequencies to a different channel. There is a slight pause. The door then crashes open, the remains being pushed back with a large amount of dust flying up.
"Good job. You are almost there." John's voice spoke up over the communicator on your channel, "It is VERY important that you listen to my exact directions from here on out. Move ahead until you see the fork. I will continue from there."

Your men rush down the hallway, which still looks a lot like Archangel's base. If anything, it seems even more fortress like. The walls were still made of concrete, but now bands of steel run down the middle of each wall, along with the occasional iron rivet. You make way down this hallway for several minutes, with several incredibly heavy steel doors blocking the way. The doors where massive, they reminded you a lot of the tanks you had to fight, but each moved out of the way as you passed. Finally, you make it to the crossroads John was referring to.

"Now this is VERY important!" John stresses...There is a bit of static, probably from being behind so many fortifications. "Alec must go alone, down the right path. I repeat, Alec must go alone down the right path. Rikki and David stay back at the ready. Alec will scout ahead, and set up an ambush behind the enemy. You will then receive further orders when the time comes." Johns voice stated over the communicator.

Alec looked at David and Rikki at the comm, trying not to show his uncertainty. One part of his mind was leery of the idea, the man knows he's large and tends to bumble a bit with his movement so he wouldn't call himself 'stealthy.' Where would he set up anyway? The man withheld a sigh, wishing John would be more upfront.

A smaller part of his mind poked at the idea of it being a trap, but he shut that down. He's not in the tunnels anymore, no spiders, no mind fuckery. At worse, buggy comms that he thinks someone may be messing with, but whoever is doing so seems to have his health in mind. Still though...

"Best of luck. Keep safe." Alec nodded at the two as he looked down the corridor he was to go down. He reloaded any gun that wasn't topped off, secured his equipment one last time and took a deep breath before setting off. He tried to be as silent as he could as he did such, no longer having the safety in numbers that were there before.
