I'm beginning to think maybe you should stop trying to play DF at work. If the security measures are that strict, the penalties for being caught with banned software likely aren't worthwhile.

I suggest you stick to minesweeper and solitaire.
They took away our minesweeper and solitaire T_T
And not trying to play DF at work sort of ruins the !!Fun!!

If I could be the first member of the DF community to have a swat team sent after him for playing DF.
It would be a honor.

Email is my suggestion.  What if you threw a usb stick over the wall?  I can't imagine the barb will stop it?  Maybe the dogs won't sniff it out.  :P

I don't suppose you are a network admin?  Just 'accidently' incorporate it.

You could do what I used to do, and WRITE a tetris clone in excel. :D

Excel has VB programming backend support, and you can use the cells in excel like really big pixels by changing the color property.  You can put all kinds of stuff inside an excel document. :D

(The most advanced I have ever heard of was a pacman implementation, done using a dynamically updated image element as if it were a small framebuffer, stuffed into the background of a really big cell. Tetris is much easier to write though.)

(Made my teachers in college very displeased with me. I was a real terror in HS too.)

Yay! Looks like the practice has continued to evolve without me!

Just stuff the USB stick in the front of your shoe, behind the steel toe.

Problem solved.

I frequently run DF over ssh, usually on my phone. If you can get a keyboard for your phone, that's much easier. Atabletisfinetoo.

Going over your mobile network is a surefire way to skip your work's security measures.

But requires a contraband device!  They screen at the door!

:D

Depending on the type spyware, the excel document games could get whitelisted. :D

Whoops - didn't see the post about cameras, my bad.

Can you ssh into or out of your work? Even if there's an intermediary server you can access from both home or work you could just use reverse tunnels and run it on your home computer. Reverse tunnels are probably more severely frowned upon than smuggling USB sticks though.

Failing all of that, if they just monitor internet traffic then your best bet is to host a really mundane but plausible website and tunnel ssh inside https (probably need an apache module or similar). You'd probably need to write a custom ssh client/server which shouldn't be too difficult. Then you're go-go-gadget df.

How do they screen for cellphones? It's likely either the signal or the battery. If the former, just keep it off. If the latter, bring a usb cable and run it off computer power.

If none of these work I'm running out of ideas...

That's an RF radio sniffer, probably coupled with a feedback impedence sensor. (Basically a modified metal detector).

Putting the usb stick in the shoe, behind the steel toe would allow the toe to act as a faraday cage. Other options are metal foil bags, like a bag of chips. :D

The steel toe is more clever though, because it is required by Osha, and won't raise suspicion.
