A group of people have gathered in a room that looks to be a hotel room. Rain falling on a glass window at night makes itself barely audible over the sound of a television playing at a low volume. The walls are painted a light olive color and the carpet is beige. The ceiling is white. In the main room, the beds have been folded up and a wooden table has been set in their place. The table is oval-shaped and can seat eight. Resting on the table is a variety of maps, mainly of the country they're in, Lecidia, and the county they're in, Ridgelake County.
Lecidia is a small, primarily human country. In the Northwest lies the Cloudcrest mountain range that separates the small amount of marshland from the rest of the mostly forested country. Bordering Trovintr, a Demonblood country to the Northeast, about an eighth of the population of the country is Demonblood. As such, the availability of Demonblood technology is much greater. It also has multiple issues with crime due to some of the ethnic disputes between the Southern Lecidian Humans, who tend to despise the Demonblood species, and both the Northern Lecidian Humans, who try to keep a good opinion of themselves with the Demonbloods, and the Lecidian Demonbloods. Murder is especially common and the roads are dangerous at night and any other time of day. A Southerner would do best to go out during the day, as the Demonbloods are nocturnal, while the Northerners are advised to travel at night. English, Spanish, and Kestvoshorik are the official languages of the country. The capital of Lecidia City lies slightly closer to the Northeastern border than the center of the rectangular country.
Ridgelake County is the poorest of the counties and has the least Demonblood population. It lies two counties away from Trovintr and three counties away from the southern border. It has a high population of Southerners and is a dangerous place for a Demonblood to live. People who live here would be advised to understand both Spanish and English.
The species available to start with are:
Humans:
General:
About 377 years ago, a scientific research ship became stranded on Gelduzmorn with no way to return and no need to, as Earth and the rest of its solar system was too dangerous of a place to live. They were lucky enough to end up on a planet capable of supporting life. The humans got a small society running quickly, and with their tools, began to plant new specieas of plants on Gelduzmorn. Soon, they spread to the entirety of the continent of Litica. Soon, they were able to experiment with genetics in their free-time. They developed the other races with the help of the richer members of society. A woman named Celli Driscoll gathered enough funds to pay for the development of Nyelrrithics. Years later, an eccentric man by the name of Loren Tylers funded the development of Demonbloods on with his own money. The Iloial came from a botanist woman named Grace Helens. Different groups of humans reacted differently to these new species.
Anatomy:
No physical descripton needed. Hopefully.
Behaviour and Interactions With Other Species:
Humans are the race that vary most in this aspect. However, the averaged opinion is that they do not like the Demonbloods or the Iloial, and like the Nyelrrithics.
Primary Religion:
About half of them are atheist, and Christianity is the second most common religion. Most other religions didn't make it to Gelduzmorn.
Primary Language:
English is the most common, but in some places a knowledge of Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, or Japanese will be necessary to interact with others.
Pros:
Majority Species.
Respected as the first species on Gelduzmorn.
Fast-learning.
Neutrals/Doeble-Edged Swords/Opinions:
No Specific Natural Skillset. (Aside from being a bit better at tactical, military, and scientific exploits.)
Cons:
Relatively Brittle.
Arrogant.
Demonbloods:
General:
The Demonbloods have an appearance similar to that of a demon, hence their English name, which comes from a slur used against them early on.
Anatomy:
Very tall, at eight feet in height. They possess an extra pair of arms, a set of horns, and two hearts. The horns are often ivory in color, but rarely they end up as black with spots of red. The horns, if used for actual combat, would likely shatter painfully, especially with the rare coloration. They are more for decoration. Their skin colors range from anything on the grayscale to the reds to the caucasians. Their hair color possesses a similar range, but with more browns and purples. They are always born with two differently-colored eyes, often on opposite ends of the spectrum. Their eyes are good at seeing in dark conditions, as not only are they nocturnal, but the often live underground. Unfortunately, this makes them worse during daytime.
Behaviour and Interactions With Other Species:
Again, it's a matter of opininion, but the Demonbloods will often try to ally with all three of the other members of the dominant four races. However, the cannabalistic tendencies are generally off-putting to the humans and Nyelrrithics.
Primary Religion:
Mostly Atheist, with a variety of scattered polytheist religions as a primary minority.
Primary Language:
Kestvoshorik. It's a rigid language with fifty-five letters. It's often hard to pronounce. It's divided into five sections for the consonants and. The Sharp consonants easily the most often used. They are Dyet, Tyet, Kyet, Gyet, and Khyet. They represent the letters before the Y. Khyet is pronounced by making a cat's hissing noise. The Whispering consonants are Sgarth, Zgarth, Shgarth, and Zhgarth and are the second-most common. The Origin consonants are only used at the beginning set of consonants in a syllable. They are Ro, Lo, Yo, and Wo. Then there are the Soft consonants, Baev, Vaev, Faev, and Thaev. Vaev is the single most common letter used. The final set contains only two consonants, they are Nahem and Mahem.
Then there are the vowels, which are grouped into sets of three or two. The sets of three consist of a base and its modifiers. The two modifiers possible are -l and -r.
There's the E-El-R set, which makes the eh sound. The O-Ol-Or set makes the oh sound. The I-Il-Ö is an outlier, having the modifier -l, but then having the completely random Ö. I and Il are the ih sounds, while Ö makes the sound of oo like in 'book" or "hook". The A-Al-Ar set makes the a sound in "and", while the U-Ul-Ur set is the oo in "boot" and "loot". The Au-Aul-Aur set is the ow sound. The oy sound is made by the Eu-Eul-Eur set. Ae-Ael-Aer is the ay, Oe-Oel is the u in "under", and Ii-Iil-Iir is the ee sound. Aa-Aal-Aar is the ah sound. The ie sound is taken by Ei-Eil-Eir, and Eo-Eol is the ew sound.
Pros:
Artistic/Creative.
Physically Flexible.
Neutrals/Double Edged-Swords/Opinions:
Size- Makes them stronger and more intimidating than most other races, but with this size leaves them incapable of wearing most clothes and armor that's found, gives them difficulty in entering smaller places, and gives many of them breathing problems.
Immortal to Age
Stubborn- They have a greater will when set on something, but are harder to deal with because of it.
Cons:
Prone to Insanity.
Lack of Focus.
Clumsy.
Nyelrrithics:
Anatomy: A Nyelrrithic is essentially a catperson with only the tail and the ears. The cat ears do not replace the regular ears, giving them four ears. The most common eye color is green, and the hair colors are usually brown.
Pros:
Good Hearing.
High Focus.
Good Vision.
Neutrals/Double-Edged Swords/Opinions:
Size- Almost the inversion of the Demonbloods' size problems.
Practical-Minded.
Cons:
Shorter Natural Lifespans
The Iloial:
General Info:
The Iloail are a race of plant-people split into three castes, the irises, lotuses, and roses. The Irises are the workers, builders, and more caring parents. Most of them are male. The lotuses are the warriors and the majority of them are female. These lotuses tend to make up the majority of Iloial minority populations, as prisoners of war turned into civilians. The roses are the nobility and royalty and are only female.
Anatomy:
Externally, the Iloial appear like a flower, as large green leaves cover most of their body and their hair is made of multiple long petals of varying vibrant colors. Their eyes are always a solid pale blue. They're about as big as a human and a slight bit thinner. The deeper you dig into one, the body becomes a mix of plant and animal tissues, with a foul-smelling sap fueling their body yet their hearts being mostly animal tissue. Their bones and teeth are a combination of bone and that wood-like material. Said teeth are sharp and used to eat the dead of any sentient race, including their own. In fact, it's considered better to feed a comrade than to rot outside. They live the healthiest in swamps and forests, where the supply of water, sun, and things to kill and eat are highest. However, a group of exiles called the Icethorns have set up a town called Qialxebia (Kee-all-SAY-bee-uh) in the region of Voshor, one of the three regions of Kestvoshorzhelm, a small, predominantly taiga continent, home to both the first Demonbloods and the Demonblood language of Kestvoshorik.
Due to their plant-like nature, the Iloial don't drown very easily, nor does their sap flow easily out of their bodies. Their nerves don't respond to stimuli as willingly as other races. However, they suffer more in the cold, heat and polluted environments. Sidarsos, with its heavy levels of pollution and radiation, is hell to them.
Behaviour and Interactions with Other Species:
Most are naturally aggressive and territorial to those not of their own grounds, Iloial or not. When they work with other races, they usually do dealings with the Demonbloods, who share the same love of combat and traditions of cannibalism. When they have trouble with eachother, though, it's usually about the Iloial religion versus the atheist majority in Demonblood society or the Demonbloods wasting borrowed resources on things the Iloial view useless, like massive artistic projects or trying to sustain good relations with the humans or Nyelrrithics. The Iloial tend to despise the Nyelrrithics, even having set them as the target of their genocidal tendencies.
So in dealings with the other species, they are in goo terms with most demonblood countries, neutral with the humans, and in terrible condition with the Nyelrrithics.
Primary Religion:
The primary Iloial religion is called Xolqexicqast (sol-KAY-sick-ast). It has two gods in it, Litexa (lee-TAY-sah), the goddess of the sun and combat, and Mitalxiz (mi-TAL-seeze), goddess of sleep and death. Litexa is responsible for protecting Iloial from harm and keeping the sun from aging to the point of its destruction, while Mitalxiz brings the Iloial that Litexa could not protect to the Mezocq-hoin (mez-OKE-hoin), which is Warspeak for Greenmarsh. Mezocq-hoin is more like Valhalla than Heaven.
Ultim-talst (Ull-tim TALLST), which means "Before Favor" is where the non-Iloial souls go for exactly 32 years. The place is a cold, yet burning system of infinite tunnels where almost everything is made of metal or hard stone in some combination. People will constantly feel the need to eat and drink, leading them to kill other souls, an action that resets the changing of the victim's soul into that of an Iloial. The Iloial see themselves as doing good for the people they forcibly convert, as they believe that if you do not follow the religion, your soul ceases to exist. When they commit genocide, they are preventing those they see as inferior (the Nyelrrithics), from being allowed into Ultim-talst to become like them.
