Behold, the wild, open expanse of the crossroads and cities call to you, with steel in hand and gold in bag!

You have recently taken up arms, but not for honor and nobility, but for your own personal gain and infamy! It will take a long time before you become a TRUE terror of the crossroads, though. For now, you are nothing more than a sad highwayman who has close to no banditry experience.

You will soon remedy that, and have a band of roaming, frothing pirates at your command. One day, one day indeed.


But first things first, you can't rob nobles and caravans of their goods without a NAME, GENDER, and PREFERRED WEAPON!

I had this idea quite literally five minutes ago. Struggling with a bit of writer's block and both hating and not knowing what to do with my previous game left me to a more open-world alternative.

The objective is simple: You are a highwayman/bandit, you start out as a lone man with a rusty blade, but hopefully you will soon rise to the position of a bandit overlord, commanding a horde of bandits and having a rusty, run-down base filled with gold all to yourself.

I'll just see where this goes. *Shrug*

Yes, your name is Nastor Reynaud. And you vow that all the blue-blooded nobles will speak your name in fear one day, as you sit upon a golden throne comprised of their riches! You are extremely skilled with a bow, and you even own a custom-made Double-bow, which is of a nearly exquisite quality, and outperforms nearly any other bow owned by the common man.

But the rest of your equipment is not holding up so well. You have a set of raggedy old leather armor that is probably going to fall apart any second. At least it'll protect you from something, hopefully. You also own a small knife as a backup that isn't much different in terms of quality. It's rusty, and pretty dull. On the bright side, you own 50 silver pieces, and can easily upgrade if you wanted to, as long as you're frugal.

You have two options: You can go and try to rob lone travelers, or you can go to the nearest town to equip and hopefully find some able-bodied people looking for work of a more sinister nature. Or, you can try to think up of something else.

You decide to rob a passing traveler. You set up a small ambush in a clump of vegetation next to a quite well-traveled road. You have to pass on several opportunities, a group of farmers, a caravan with armed guards- attacking them would not end up well for you.

But then, waiting pays off. You find a pair of travelers you can rob. They don't seem rich, although one has a sword at his hip. Both are wearing hoods over their heads and long cloaks.

You launch an arrow, unseen from the vegetation. Your intended target was the man with the sword, if you can disable him, you can rob them both.

The arrow cuts through the cloak, tearing a wide hole, and revealing something you wish you hadn't seen. Armor. Chainmail, to be exact. The armored man recoils, grabbing his side. If you hadn't pierced him, you left a bruise at the very least. His hand shoots towards his hip, wrapping around the hilt of the sword, observant eyes sweeping the landscape. The other man jumps, looking around as well. You don't know if he's armored, but one of them is, and that's enough to frighten you.

You can run now, and they will not likely pursue you, or you can still try to rob them. One of them is armed and has chainmail, for gods sake, they might be nobility in disguise!
