Composite output to computer speakers?
« on: February 05, 2013, 07:51:51 pm »

I recently got a cheapo CRT TV for my room from the local junk shop, but I didn't notice that it only had mono sound input until I had already brought it home. I don't really want to risk exchanging it with one that might not work, so I figured I'd ask you guys:

Is there a way to use computer speakers with composite output cables, like those the Nintendo 64 uses? The speakers only have a 3.5mm connector, like a headphone plug. Before I go looking for myself and end up buying something super expensive, is there a cost-effective way to use said speakers with said composite cables to get stereo sound? I don't want a huge box that will take up a ton of space, although it would be cool if it were part of an AV switchbox.

prepare to break the bank :P

I mistyped, the cord would need a 3.5mm female on one end and two female RCA on the other end. Thanks for pointing me at this website though, I'm sure I'll find what I need here :D

hmm you will probably need to daisy chain with male and female cords but hell they are cheap.
