Also, something I didn't notice before, you can totally tell where other land masses are, even if you didn't explore there yet, since you can see the heightmap :/

I'm thinking of doing a remake of this game, actually. It's been on my 'cool coding projects to do' list for a while, and I don't think it would be particularly hard, though it may take a while. Being able to add new features like 14 players, or improve the MP section, would just be so awesome. I'll probably never get round to it, though, and even if I do I'm sure there'd be legal problems :<

I would love to see improvement of the AI. Also some incorporation of some of the newer Civ UI elements, like seeing your city's pop growth meter and production countdown on the main map city icon. There's a few extra clicks here & there that add up in Alpha Centauri.

Actually, it was stuck on me as of yesterday, it was just that the turn counter hadn't been updated yet. The save was sent literally as I was about to leave for a sleepover, so I couldn't have played it.
