I haven't played this game much, but yeah, you can give/take resources and fuel as you see fit. Some places, you might need to do that sometime. Or in some poorly created bases, pre-made or not, you'll probably have to serve as a sort of re-supply ship.

I think Rainbow worlds are in this game as well. Don't remember if they were given meaning or not, or if they're as exploitably useful as they were in the last game.

Rainbow worlds are in this one, and they do serve a plot point. Verily, I rememberest using mine inventory item upon such vibrant 'scapes, and lo! also a dash of pretentious humor, mayhap?

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

The next video is up. Only took me two weeks, eh? And I'm sure that Glyph will be happy to hear that I'm replaying the game a bit to eliminate all of that pointless waiting I was doing.

Also, if anybody has any tips on colonization, I'm all ears. I spent too much time in the deleted run-through agonizing over colony locations.

Triple posting, because I can.

Also, I did say that I can produce these videos in a jiffy, didn't I? Mind you, I've just realized that the commentary is de-synced from the gameplay, so I'll have to experiment with that. So, long story short, no more videos for a while. And to top everything off, my cunning plan failed utterly. Goddamn it.

Ha. Ha. Hahahaha. :P

Right. I will admit to walking right into that one, though I'm honestly having some trouble 'acquiring' crew as the Syreen. A tip or two won't go amiss.

Anyways, thanks to the magic of pre-recording, I can bring you this!

...

I'm not entirely sure what this is, but from what I can tell we fly around a bit and manage some colonies. Luckily the next couple of videos should be more exciting, especially since we meet some (relatively) new aliens.

Regarding crew issues, feel like farming with Syreen?

I would do tons of farming with the Syreen if it would get me more (largely pointless) colonies. Why?

Spare crew for your flagship, just in case? Also you can always expand your colonizing as fuel stations to extend your range.

Sorry, let me rephrase that. I would gladly farm with the Syreen for more crew, please tell me how.

Transfer the Syreen crew from their ships onto your flagship (for colonization), and stockpile the crew the ships capture, provided they survive, into the flagship as well, or onto a throwaway colony on the side.

Alternatively, you can use the Mycon to do the same thing. Empty out some crew; get into a dragged out battle against an easy-to-avoid enemy (Daktaklakpaks are plentiful, and it looks like you know how to deal with them)), and regenerate your crew to maximum (better when in an upgraded Podship (extended crew stores, or quicker battery regen, speed helps against faster enemies; or you can always gravity-whip to safety, or orbit a planet and use it as a shield)), and then destroy your enemy. Lather, rinse, repeat.

In case the crew registers as Syreen, despite snagging, at least you have one race producing human-like colonists, while the other race can exist in hellish environments. Double-win. The Mycon definitely win on this since they can colonize more hostile places, and are easier to reproduce by this exploit.

-snip-

Ah. That was kinda my plan anyways. However the Syreen/Mycon don't seem to work that great against the Dak. The Syreen definitively don't work, as the Dak just spew out their rocket mines, preventing the Syreen from closing. The Mycon... maybe. I'll have to practice orbiting, as the Dak are just that bit faster than the Podships. They don't manage to get very far without getting drilled to death. Though the upgraded podship might work. Less energy for plasma chunks/regeneration would probably make them more viable.

Do enemies orbiting colonies respawn? Because if they do I could always go after the Doog, who are the perfect ships to attack as the Syreen. Their rocket-turret doesn't help if they've spent all their energy rebuilding. Alternatively, if they don't... then finding a way to recruit the Doog would work. They tear the Dak a new one, and have enough time to create some new crewmembers as well. I'll keep practising though, in the hopes that everything would work out sooner or later.

Also, new video.

EDIT: I'm going to delay the next few videos until I can solve the problems of audio de-sync once and for all. Well, I could always go back to recording commentary separately, but that's a last resort type thing right now.
