»»»I think we're good here. Let's don our finery and explore the market further.
You are excited for fancy capes and hats, and don't waste a moment before trying them on. You pull out your Quarterstaff, and prepare to strike a jaunty pose, before you head off to explore the rest of the market.
...on second thought, this cape and hat don't match nearly as well as you hoped. And though the notch in the cape leaves room for your tail, the hat clearly wasn't designed with Flinds in mind. It's kinda pinching your ears.
...DAMNIT GUYS
We should have asked for a red version of that robe/cloak thing.
It's been what, five seconds since we bought the clothes? Is an outfit switch really out of the question?
You wonder if the purple-hatted merchant would be alright with a trade-in... after all, it's only been a minute or so, and he knows they can't have gotten damaged at all. You approach him again, and tell him you've reconsidered your purchase, and would like to see if you could get the cape and hat in matching colors. He shakes his head.
I'm very sorry, but the Council has imposed rules which we, as traders, are bound by. All purchases made in this Market are final, and cannot be negotiated once coin and goods have changed hands...> DIPLOMACY CHECK (UNTRAINED): 17 (17+0)
...however, you are a good and honorable Flind, no? I believe I can trust you. If you are willing to make a secret of it, I can overlook this unfortunate law for you, just this once. We will say you were just trying them on. And of course, you can vouch for the quality of my wares when all your friends ask where you found such fetching clothes, yes? Now, what would you like to exchange? You ask if he has any red capes in the same style. He turns to face the wicker boxes arrayed behind him, and begins sifting through one. Shaking his head, he switches to a second box, and then a third.
Alas, it would seem as though I have no other notched capes in that style. Such have become popular among gentleman of fashion as of late. Perhaps when next month's shipment comes in, we can fit you for another cape that matches your new hat... though, if you wish, I do have a hat that may better suit your cape. Why not try it on, and tell me what you think?...
