Bah, he is lying. They don't have the ability to hack your vox it just sounds better then admitting that your grunts tweet each other their orders to impress others and he just follows them on twitter.

Observing from afar as a loyal subject of the Tau Empire, I note that the Imperials are perhaps too pessimistic about their chances of out-shooting the Tau, especially from an entrenched position, given the Imperial Guard are the strongest shooty army in the galaxy.

Of course, none of you lack the conviction or pure heart that comes with servitude of the Greater Good.  Surrender and spare your men the many lives about to be lost!

(This is awesome btw, watching with great interest!)

Tau don't have Psykers!
debatable when it comes to ethereals
I'm banking on pheremones.
When was the last time you saw a Ethereal try and order a Fire warrior team around, only to have a demon use his face as a portal to realspace?

Fair enough, but i don't see pheromones working if they are in a battlesuit that can survive chemical/biological warfare.

maybe it has something to do with the face vag slits?

I'm also guessing that.
goddamn depraved xenos.
Also, I thought ethereals didn't wear suits and they had fire warrior body guards?
Anyway, I assume pheromones are only needed if someone is disopedent, since Tau are taught from pretty much birth to serve ethereals no matter what.

Pheromones are the Imperium's guess. Since they don't have any psy power (litterally none, not even latent), that's the most probable.
Knowing the Tau history well enough, I can say there's something REALLY fishy with the ethereal. Ye Olde Codex stated that the Taus as a whole looked like an artificial species under a microscope.
And the ethereal wear nothing more than a loincloth and robes. A special character from the old codex was an ethereal who was basically yoda with dark maul's size and weapon, fighting bare-chested. Badass. Now they have the pope instead.

Why are we discussing the Xenos? They are impure, they must be cleansed with bolters, fire, more grenades, some melta, more fire and possibly an exterminatus if possible on their homeworld...while closing them off in the warp so they can say hello to Khorne in person.
That is the way we should go for.
The rest is heresy and you will speak of it in front of the inquisition.

“Well,” he said. “We’re in the Forgotten hunting grounds I take it. Your screams just woke them up early. Congratulations, Lyara.”
“Do something!” she whispered, trying to keep her sight on all of them at once.
Basileus clapped his hands once. The Forgotten took a step forward, attracted by the sound.
“There, I did something. I clapped. I like clapping,” he said. -The Investigator And The Case Of The Missing Brain.

As a de facto member of the Mechanicus (as you can read on the left pannel, I am actually studyng to become a xenobiologist. Not a joke, there is a "xenobiology" (they call it astrobiology) department at the NASA.), I do not have to talk to the inquisition about my studies. Research was performed on the Taus 6000 years ago by mechanicus members, and more recently as well. Was that heresy? No. It gave us new indsight on how to kill them. I have colleagues working on artificial pheromones that would mimic ethereals' influence and allow us to effectively brainwash the xenos into whatever we can think of. (not going to happen before a couple centuries though).

Interesting... our company engiseer is studying to become a magos. While a fascinating discussion about 'face vag' and xenos biology, there's no chance you can disperse something that makes them shoot each other, is there?

No?

Then keep your head down, and we'll find you some relatively intact xenos later for dissection.
