The Town of Teren

A bustling village in the outskirts of the peaceful plain of Estia, the village possesses all the commodities of a typical village with little more than fifty families scattered around the general area, many are farmers or laborers who work in the farms, some have small shops which sell the bare essentials, and being a village on the main road to the capital, Esselys it is fairly trafficked.
Our lovely group of adventurers has finally decided to take their first adventure,
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
and begins their voyage that might lead them to untold heights of wealth and power, just as well as to the deep and cold hands of death, with a mission.
Well, not actually a mission.
More of a chore actually.
The Inn of Teren, called The Bloody Boar, is small but clean, kept so by an overly affectionate dwarf by the name of Thordrek who enjoys a fine mug of ale between serving one to a paying customer.
You four have heard of a small problem the innkeeper has, and in exchange for keeping the entire things under wraps, you will be paid handsomely at the end of your mission. Of course you wanted to know more!
Thus Thordrek had his son move to the counter, while he brought you into the back of the inn, and from there to the trapdoor for the cellar.
"Well, I've got a bit of a problem ye see." He begins, licking his lips nervously, "Somethin' that has ta be kept quiet, ya understand me I suppose? Wouldn't want the bad publicity and all."

“There, I did something. I clapped. I like clapping,” he said. -The Investigator And The Case Of The Missing Brain.

Korina, somewhat discomfited by the fact that she had to put her backpack on her chair to get high enough to put her elbows on the table, idly drew arcane designs in a spilled bit of beer. "So, tell me, Mr. Thordrek..." she said, raising her eyes from the table to meet his. "What is the nature of this problem, that it needs to be kept hush-hush?"

((Lady Minski is a dunce anyway.))

Lady Minski, upon hearing of Thordrek's issue, lifted her Greatsword and struck the wooden flooring of the inn without a resounding THUD. She then crossed her legs and learned forward, trying to understand.

"MMM, a problem, yeh?" She licked her lips. Thordrek wouldn't approach an adventurer like her if it didn't involve her specialty. "By 'paid handsome,' I hope ya mean gold."

Thordrek makes a bitter smile at Korina, before replying.
"Ya see good lass, this tavern here, I've kept it clean and sparkling and working for over a decade. Never had a problem before now. Wouldn't want the customers to leave you know? So let's say, theoretically, that there's something in the cellars that shouldn't be there..."
He turns to Lady Minski, before replying with a wink of the eye.
"Aye lady, ye've got me squared. You're in four, so how about Four gold coins each? Enough to get ya a passage towards the capital mind you!"

Henry shrugged his shoulders. Four coins each should hopefully be enough to last them to their next job. Not that he really needed money, but it was always nice to have a bit extra.

"Well guys. That sounds acceptable to me."

Lady Minski nods and grins.

: "That's ACCEPTABLE! I'll take care of whatever ya got down under."

Tarzu smiles at that. "Vermin in the cellars huh? Should be easy to get rid of, I'm in." He pulls out his sword and starts polishing it while he says this.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

"Four gold? Each?" That was a goodly little bit of cash. "...Yes. I'll take it. Be a bit of a fool not to, wouldn't I?" She gave the dwarf a charming smile and folded her hands on the table. "Now that we've got that out of the way, can you give us the particulars of the job?"

The Dwarf smiles and nods, beaming as you four accept his offer.
"Very well lads, now," he takes out a key chain from within his belt, and plucking a single key from a vast amount of them, he carefully places it in the trapdoor's lock and unlocks it.
"The cellar's just that: a cellar. Ye get down, and there are just two rooms in there. Just be careful not to break any barrel alright? There are," he whispers quietly, "Rats down there, and I've got no clue how the hell they got in. So...Yeah, take care of them for me will ya? I'll go down myself to check when you've cleaned it, and be careful, there are some big rats also. I'd rather you avoid using fire if possible, you know, could spark something bad what with all the wines or the beer down there."
He then moves the trap door to the side, to reveal a dingy looking wooden stair that descends but a few feet down, before reaching what you see being a smooth stone floor with quite a bit of dust layering on it.
"Mind you, there's no light down there since I'm a dwarf and all...I can leave the trap door open if it helps, but I'd really rather not have any fire going down there."

"Lady Minski, I can oblige. Here," Korina said, casting Light on the two-handed sword. That accomplished, she waited for the other three to head downstairs first before following.

Upon seeing her two-handed sword flicker and flash then settle to a soft glow, Lady Minski's eyes widened. It was beautiful.

"Oo, thanks, tiny lady! Ye magic types ain't all bad after all!"

Henry shrugged. That works.

"It shall not last for long, so let us hurry. But if possible, it may be a good idea to let me try to communicate with the rats, it is possible we can find a peaceful resolution. Although I fear they will be uncooperative... and giant rats do not sound like they would listen at all."

Henry follows Minski down.

Tarzu quietly moves down the cellar stairs. "If you don't mind, I'll go first and scout out what's so horrid with these rats."(ooc:+8 hide&move silently to sneak down stairs)

"Assuming they are normal rats, I could make you all but invisible and unhearable to them if you want. Although once again, giant rats sound worrying and they may not be effected by my magics."
