You finally get a reply. "Go away." Her voice sounds scared.

There is no response from inside the room. Hanako's mother has gone to get her father from downstairs, but you have a different plan.

Hanako's window is on the second story, but a cherry tree stands a small distance away. You've used this tree to get into Hanako's room before, when your parents wouldn't let you play with her. Your little skilled hands find small handholds, and you clamber up the tree.

Hanako's room is too dark to see much. Her back is turned to you. She's making something out of rope.

There is a noh mask on the wall.
