Pixelry Kickstart Just Launched!!

EDIT*

It's out! Feel free to dish out love to these kind developers!

with some nice perks to boot!

Remember that awesome game Pixelry that ran into some trouble a few months back?

http://www.desura.com/games/pixelry/news/like-a-phoenix1

The game is a jousting "sim" with 8-bit toony graphics and loads of charm. The problem was that the game took up more monetary resources and time than the dev's (Two Spanish brothers) had, and what with the economic situation in Spain being that which it is well, they had to turn out the game in an "unfinished" state.

I quote "unfinished" because while the game IS a full title, it's missing much of what they had wanted to make of it, like online multiplayer, clans, guilds, buildable houses or towns and whatnot.

It's a real shame because I was following the hell out of the game and loving it.

Oh, did I also mention it got an award apparantly! http://www.desura.com/games/pixelry/news/winners-of-indiedb-creative-award-editors-choise-2012 So yeah, I'd say a crowd funding project to help them get the game "Feature Complete" is just what they need!

I'm not a PR rep anymore what with me working as GamersGate's content manager, so I can only wish them the absolute best of luck and give them my kindest regards and wishes.

This is a very cool reto styled game and the devs seem very well prepared to finish it. Count me among it's Kickstarter backers if they go that route. Anyone interested in some free copies of the game?

I love the mini games in this and can't wait to see if they expand upon it going forward. Any ideas what they want to add to the game? I really hope they keep the art though!

Is this a fan-remake of Defender of the Crown? Cause I could get behind that.

Actually yeah, I'd say that's pretty similar to what they have in mind, a sort of homage to defenders of the crown. I heard they want to bring in multiplayer, clans, city building, loads of goodies. Player made content using a reall deep editor, the works!

They fell shy of their goals due to the recession, but I think that this will be a successful kickstart, and will take this game to the level it deserves.

Opinions?

Hi André! It's always nice when devs visit us here.

What would you like to add to the game if you make a sequel or improved version?

Also, are you the same Toen from deviantArt?

Hello hemmingjay! Indeed, my user name on DeviantART is also Toen :P

(First of all, sorry for my English, I'm from Spain)
Well basically, we had a huge amount of improvements wich we couldn't implement to the current version... It was a hard desition but we needed to stop its developing so a lot of its potential was still waiting on the line.

There is a video (I can give you the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wlfECZoEUc ) where we discuss a few of them, but basically we wanted to expand the npcs, a proper and better item and rpg system, more minigames etc...
As you can see in the Video, the most important Update would be the "Pixure" system to literally CREATE all the items on your knight, and of course the multiplayer community to share your design in a shop, fund groups or clans, fight with others, share statistics and a global score etc (Very alike to Battlenet)

I don't really have any. That Lancing Twig drives me crazy just looking at it.

It IS silly, but I would disagree about passe.  The game has cuteness and tongue-in-cheek humor in spades. (i just realized almost nothing in that sentence will translate, sorry). Sometimes the same people always seem to revel in raining negativity here.

Toen, that seems like a lot of cool new things and I look forward to it. You can count on me to help support it and I am sure more than a few others here would also chip in if you guys Kickstart or sell the improved game. I had a lot of fun with Pixelry!

Neonivek, It's totally acceptable to feel those ways even if you haven't played the game or done any real investigation into it. It' entirely your prerogative even if I don't understand your compulsion, however, your tone to the dev is a bit rude and not cool. The one thing that sets this board apart from the rest is a general level of courtesy and respect(ok, and magma and kittens).
