As of version 0.31, however, a request for "rock blocks" will also accept metal blocks (because of the way material organization changed); in 40d and earlier, they had to be made of stone (or ore).
Glass blocks would work here too, yes?
No, they would not - the mood remands blocks made of INORGANIC:[ANY], and glass is a hardcoded material, not an inorganic (i.e. defined in the inorganic_*.txt raws).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

From what I've seen, if he was only asking for bones and rock blocks, then either he wanted more bones or rock blocks, or if you had rock blocks and enough bones, metal bars.

Check the dwarf's favorite materials. You may need some of that specific one.

For armorsmiths and metal smiths I highly recommend considering what bars are closest to the workshop. If a mood emerges and you see that this situation equals disastrous artifact result, you can actually FORBID the bar in the workshop to make him get a new bar of metal. I'm not sure everyone knows this SDT.

Alternatively, you can enjoy your Steamy Bitterness bouncing off stuff.

Changing the material type of a already collected item can also produce interesting results, like the platinium composite bow.

lead swords ahoy! heh, that dwarf specifically had to have lead for some reason, probably favored material, but yes, i recommend looking in the workshop and forbidding stupid stuff

although those non-weapon metals are not always bad for weapons, when a moody weaponsmith grabs a gold bar, consider that a gold hammer could potentially be better then steel, then again there's always the chance he might make a gold sword, which would be a bit of a joke, even as an artifact

I'd rather go with steel warhammer. Those aren't much worse than any other material ones.

My Mayor is wearing a gold artifact helm. I like when that type of stuff comes together.

I had a fort obsessed with the artificat right gauntlet made from blind cave bear bones (I may have been running a blind cave bear veal farm at the time :P). There was then a coffin made of blind cave bear bones with the image of the gauntlet on it and half the dining hall was pictures of the thing being held up by a dwarf. I gave the gauntlet to my militia commander who lost only the hand in a siege and bled out from the wound after taking a few arrows to the chest. He was buried in the artifact coffin. I guess he was not worthy to wield the gauntlet.

Yes, I was indeed steamy and bitter when I realized what the weaponsmith had produced. This thing bounces off cave bats (..).

Aluminium can't be properly represented in the game, tbh.

I also wish I could put my artifact buckler in my artifact chest. (PUN)

You must construct a pool and recruit a squad of swimsuit models.

I must be having a stupid mood myself, for I am sold. Now what sort of items does a DF 80's style club entail?

Microline dancefloor?

Microcline and something else (pitchblende?) in a checkerboard pattern.

I will run the experiment to completion anyway, however. Even if the only reason why there is a punctured equilibrium in the fortress is because I have been brutally butchering babies
EDIT: I just remembered that dwarves can't equip halberds. That might explain why the squads that use them always die.
