Steel?
« on: January 26, 2013, 07:33:14 pm »

Just wondering, Is it possible to obtain steel weapons/armor in vanilla adventure mode? My legendary swordsman vampire is getting tired of his silver longsword. Tips and information are appreciated.

I'm sorry, silver longsword? That's like trying to cut a steak with a spoon. Bronze or iron is what you need.

As to steel... well, you'll never get a steel longsword. Only a shortsword, and only if you can find a bandit camp with dwarves with steel weapons.
It's possible, but very, very unlikely.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Currently there are no dwarven sites in adventure mode, so that's why you can't find steel weapons easily.  Your best bet presently is to just abandon a fort with steel weapons and armor lying around.  You can then head there as an adventurer and grab the stuff.

This will be changing in the next version though.

That explains there being nothing at dwarven halls.

Sadly, no. Because he's been assimilated into human culture, he is forbidden from doing anything that dwarves can do.
