sleep it off, as much as broken ribs can be.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Jim slowly lowered himself onto a chair and gave out a tired sounding sigh.
Yeah, their magic is making it more difficult for me to raise corpses as well.

Resting his chin on the palm of his right hand, Jim paused a moment before continuing.
I guess the most effective way to catch the person, if we wanted to, would be to take over the town and sack it until we find what we're looking for. Since raising corpses is difficult for me here, it would be pretty beneficial if we could get reinforcements from the others back at the tower.

To that end, I have two ideas about how we could go about getting a message out. If we could obtain writing materials as well as a small animal like a bird, I could reanimate the animal and attach a note to it before sending it off to the tower. Other then that, I suppose one of us could try and sneak out of city and go deliver the message in person.

Jim stood up and shrugged.
I'll leave the decision up to you. For now I'm going to try and study the blood magic around here and see if I can learn anything from it.

Study the magic that's hampering my own magic to see if I can learn anything about it or turn it to my own workings. Also try things like drawing the plague out of the corpses and shaping it into something useful to myself.

Attempt to sense living beings or zombies around the area. Don't get all worried about squirrels - look for something out of place.

Having met, the Old Man, Helfd heads back to the tower.

Go back to the tower, order skeletons, free zombies and the Apprentices to clear the corpses of meat. Whatever is still edible will be cooked and given to the human slaves. Then Raise the Corpses as Gravehaunts, Golems and Skeletons.

Agree with Jim's plan of getting a dead pigeon to reanimate and writing materials. Try to find/create both.

Known Locations:
-----------------
Suomi has been abandoned. Its people fled in the dead of winter to any nearby town.

Norvak A town with an unknown population. It seems to be primarily focused on cattle.  It is defended by a small fort garrisoned by veterans of the King's Army. It is affiliated with Welnshire.
Confirmed as having the Plague. Currently under Quarantine.

Vis Valdi is a looted husk of a town.

The Tower, is ramshackle and old. It possesses few amenities currently. Your best guess is its still an unknown location.

Events:
---
Roland, Patrizio
[5,4] Between the two of you you detect nothing. No faint residue of magic, nothing living that isnt a regular animal. It seems that the old faded map in the ruins, was quite dated and nothing of value here remains.

---
Sholan
[?] You continue scouring the Catacombs with your mob of the undead. You find all sorts of empty dust filled rooms, piles of filth, mold, moss, a small river that runs through a thin passageway. But you find nothing of value. You do manage to keep track of your minions and dont lose any more.
Well this attempt was a bust.

---
Jerik,Flint
Having completed your studies, you head to the stocks to raise the Salamander corpse. [2] Your attempt fails, and you curse wildly. Forgoing a second attempt you track down Flint, to see what he wanted. You find him resting uncomfortably in his quarters, his breathing is labored and he seems generally unwell.
You examine him briefly, and before long determine that he does indeed have some broken ribs. You reach forth your power [4+1] And within moments the ribs are back in their normal locations, and repaired. He very nearly punctured a lung, but his incredible luck held long enough for you to set things right.

Flint is breathing more easily now.

---
Helfd

The suspected wizard peers at you suspiciously. You get the sense he has poor eyesight. "Who wants to know?"
"Me."
He sniffs the air "And whos that then?"
"Helfd. Necromancer."
Bold of you. Yeah. I'm a wizard. And let me just start right here by saying I dont want any damn part of whatever damn foolish idiocy you may be up to."

A raspy sound escapes the throat of Helfd. It almost sounds like a laugh if it wasn't filled with phlegm, sounded painful and was turned hollow by the gaping hole in his mouth. "Fine with me. I'm here to learn your Magic. Show some of mine if you want and to trade or buy some of your books."

He perks up at the offer of trade "Well, I aint gonna say i'm morally opposed to that. Freedom of knowledge and all that. I do have enough old or duplicate books you could probably set up a library with em."
Pauses for a moment before continuing "Wouldnt be in your speciality though."
"Heh, didn't expect so. What you want for tutoring me?"

"Tutoring you? What do you have to trade?"

"Money, Building Materials. Labour Force, My Knowledge of Bone Magic. Magic Artifacts."

"Money dont spend anymore, since Suomi got wiped out, and Norvaks got the plague. Building materials and Labour force? Wellll, those arent -too- interesting, what do I need more than my simple little hut in the woods. I also fear the Death sphere has nothing to offer me. But Artifacts? Well now, that is tempting."
He strokes his dingy and unkempt beard for a few moments, pondering'
"I tell you what. Theres some ruins near here. Guarded by all manner of the undead. Story goes that way back in antiquity a wizard like me and a wizard like you dueled for the sake of the land. And neither side really won. But the faithful minions of the wizard like you maintained his last stronghold, more or less. Theres a staff in there that I want. Get it for me, and I'll tutor you."

Helfd ponders for a moment, then his lips peel back at least where they can, his grin widened far beyond anything naturally possible. "Fine. By the way what is your Name Old Man?"

He states quite simply in an offhand way "Teris."

"Hm. Still a description to find the cave would be helpful."

He waves a hand vaguely south east-ish "One of your number already went there, from what I hear. And got sent running." He laughs a little.

"Hmpf. That Cave. Splendid. I hope you know many things Old Man. I hate Ghouls." And with that you and your undead companions return to the Tower.
---
Detani, Jim
[4,2] Writing materials are in abundance, animals seem to have abandoned the region, though through a twist of good fortune you do find a few that may be suitable once raised.

Jim's attempts to study the pervasive fog of Blood Magic about the town meets with failure. It does not answer to you, you cannot grasp and control it. You know for a fact that more experience would definitely aid you in your current endeavors.
Detani returns with the writing materials you need, as well as a few dead corpses of animals.

---
Events in Near Proximity:
---
Spring is well entrenched, the bitter cold of winter has been well forgotten now.
Further Catacomb exploration is Dangerous.

Roland frowned deeply as he stopped channeling. He cast a vaguely annoyed look around, before turning towards Patrizio.

"Guess the map wasn't accurate. There's one other point I want to check out - though I won't mind if you don't come along. I'm half considering dropping the chase, myself."

Write a note asking for help from the Cabal and attach it to a bird. Reanimate bird and send it out to the tower.

Begin Raising the bodies as just ghouls, or a zombie in the case of the Salamander.
