Either way, I think we best wait for hemmingjay to come back and rule one way or the other. Best not to fall in to an argument about it and get the thread locked.

Edit: Whoops, ninjad on that, either way, I second the advice of the talking pasta.

Yep, good advice. I've sent hemmingjay a PM to investigate. Hopefully he'll pop in and rule one way or the other soon.

When someone has less than a certain number of posts, under their username it says they are an escaped lunatic. After this, it lists them as a Bay Watcher. To enter this, all you have to do is have this minimum amount of posts (which you do) and then just be first to claim the game (unless there is a little minigame).
Welcome to the forums, by the way. :)

Oh, and you aren't a bot/long-term account that only exists for getting free stuff. Though obviously you aren't one, so it's fine.

OK, this thread is really becoming a bit of a hassle which is not the intention. I see the sense in both giveaway formats and I don't think either way prevents or assists in people "capturing" the games. I'm not going to artificially limit things. As it is, this thread might not last much longer and I think the rules are already a little over the top.

The intention of this is to instill comraderie amongst B12 folks.

If I'm honest, I haven't seen any bots claim game codes. All the mini-games will do is put people off entering, or get them irate when they've posted a picture of a British Marine as opposed to the Uzbekistani Marine the original poster wanted, but didn't stipulate.

The mini-games have the possibility of just being a vehicle for the giver to control who gets the code. As in the above example, I could ask someone to post a picture of a red football. Poster A posts a picture of a red American football, Poster B posts a red English football at the same time...I give it to Poster B because he didn't annoy me in another thread.

It's too ambiguous, too annoying, and will likely put people off claiming at all.

The rules shouldn't need to be there, as everything you need to know is in the title. First come, first serve - and that's exactly what this thread should be.

If the people want mini-games, then the people get mini-games - though I won't be giving away games in this thread again if it goes that way, which is a shame after giving away quite a few.

well i my self have given away quite a few games and thats the first time i have done something like that. but to be honest i only did it because its the first day arma 3 is out and i thought it would be a little mini game and fun, not meant to cause annoyance or anything.

I mean it does not really put people off if they want the game then they want the game. Also i don't think it does give the giver control i mean if your going to do it for the sake of making sure certain person gets the code why post it here in the first place ?

anyway derailing and i want this thread to stay up it brings the community closer doing stuff like this.

I thought we had a couple. Or maybe they were just lurker accounts for the express purpose of claiming games.

I think the whole "no escaped lunatics" rule is pretty stupid, to be honest. You don't have to give the game to the first person to ask for it, you're not bound by contract, just do whatever you want. :P

Double check topic title.... First come first serve, if we allow escaped lunatic anybody who simply want to grab the game will be allowed to have it? With the no escaped lunatic rule at least it rule out those who are not part of the community, because let be honest, its for the community and if you are not involved in a community can you be a part of the said community?

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

That's not what I meant. I mean to say it should be the one giving something away who decides who gets to take it, if they want to give it to an Escaped Lunatic I don't see why that would be a problem.
