Check the next items to be auctioned.

The flight computer ends up going to the Aroth, who smugly taunts all the others and calls her crew to prepare her ship for loading. She plans to head through Invictus, referencing a "Pirate's Nest" that you did not know of before, and posting an escort mission on the station's bulletin. The reward would be 30 SUP, should you pass through the system without encountering threats, but pay will increase by up to 200% depending on the amount of combat that occurs.

The next item is a containment unit filled with an engineered algae-like organism suspended in a polymer matrix. The lifeform is known for its extremely virulent growth, but it reacts negatively to a specific microwave frequency. This allows enemy bases and ships to be overrun and then cleared by broadcasting said frequency.

The economist leaves the auction, leaving the bid between the Centauri captain and the PXE agent. The Centauri expresses a significant interest in a possible promotion opportunity, but lacks the funds to outcompete the PXE employee, who wishes to use this item for research, rather than warfare.

"Come down here and prove it you cowardly braggart. replies kenjaro.

wait for him to climb down, if he doesnt tgen climb up and try to either get up over the edge or grab a limb he attacks me with and throw him off the edge.

"Oh yeah? Here I come!"

(6) He vaults over the railing rather than taking the ladder, then creates a shockwave upon landing, launching you a couple of meters and knocking you down.

"Come here and face me like a man, not a worm!" He holds up both fists, and starts approaching carefully as you return to your feet. He is blocking the way to the ladder, and there aren't many environmental objects around you. Just a glass floor and the expanse of space beneath your feet.

((Right, this! Sorry!))

Safely break the rare potato's and sell them for SUP's, then search for a gunsmith or enchanter.

[1+2] You try to find a buyer for the potatoes--one that's initially willing, that is. The hangars are filled with merchant captains, lone shippers, scavs, and the occasional bounty hunter. None are in the mood to make an investment.

Instead, you investigate the regions of class aboard the station, mainly restaurants. As you exhaust your options, you finally overhear a conversation taking place between two men at a table behind you.

Stranger 1: Quite. My journey to the Acheon Remnant was less than fruitful. I expected to find the planets of gold from those tales told of other remnants. Instead I discovered a rogue singularity that nearly damaged my ship!
Stranger 2: Indeed, the markets are ripe for a new source of gold around these parts.
Stranger 1: I have recently set my sights on the shores of Blaskowitz, thanks to the kind astronomers at Hawran. The Ross have granted me an exploration permit, which I shall use as soon as the military allows access. I won't let lawless nobodies get there first and undercut my yields.

You slip a note on the men's table instructing them of you contact address--a temporary one on the local station network. You receive a response within minutes.
Ah, not willing to take the risks, eh? I will make sure your supply yields good value.

Potatoes will be worth 20-50 SUP.

You will have to discover a way to safely detonate them, since you can't do it just by throwing them to the floor. That could kill people, and it would be rude.

Current Ship Upgrade Points: 89

[1] Unfortunately, there is no enchanter available at the station. Nor is there a dedicated store for weapons, [3] although you locate a merchant smuggling a shipment of arms through Ross space. They are fine arms, originating from a supplier in deep space tha specializes in energy weapons. Using a twin-field proton lattice and a psionically stabilized positronium gain medium, the weapons fire resonant photon bolts at hypersonic speeds. These weapons are incredibly energy-efficient and incredibly powerful, so most authorities have justification to suppress their transport.

Hours ago, a full-on skirmish broke out between the Ross patrol and the Centauri vessel. The two vessels are both boarding the unknown vessel, and have engaged in a search-and-destroy missions to neutralize each other's troops and board the other vessel by proxy. Both vessels have had their main drives disabled by weapons fire.

Is there a list or schedule with the items/sellers? Check whent the merchant I bought the drone from will start his round.

Oh, and check how much weight I can actually throw into the ring with the resources I currently have and without stretching my finances thin.

"I suppose I'll have to break these somehow..."

Create a stone box around the gold potatoes using multiple copied granite daggers, then find an empty alley and throw the box. Hide behind a wall.

The merchant's name is Moknenos. He will show up fairly soon, although you might have to wait for the current auction to finish.

You find a schedule that you missed on the way in.

Hour 2 - Merchant: Alexei Bargas - Bioengineered Organisms
Hour 3 - Merchant: Moknenos - Salvaged AI Module
Hour 4 - Merchant: Moknenos - In-system Warp Module
Hour 5 - Merchant: Moknenos - Psionic Tractor Beam
Hour 6 - Merchant: Azor - Exotic Wristwatch
Hour 7 - Merchant: Azor - Interstellar Map

Judging from the rich folk around you, some of the high-demand items will go for 100 SUP or more.

Engage the man in fisticuffs.

[4] vs (5): You go on him fiercely, but your target's hand-to-hand skills are exceptional even when drunk. You take blow after blow without getting many in-between, [1+2] and your combat endurance just doesn't quite match up.

Charsheet

Create a stone box around the gold potatoes using multiple copied granite daggers, then find an empty alley and throw the box. Hide behind a wall.

[4+1] The box forms as planned, but [1+1] the throw doesn't seem to set the potato off. There is no alley to toss it in, so you use a random closet instead. You hear electronic music through the station wall, as you walk back over to pick up the box.

A man in a leather jacket walks by and glances at you throwing the box around. He says nothing, though, and keeps his hands firmly in his pockets.

"Anything interesting on your side? I am at a fairly interesting auction, though our current lack of funds is most certainly a bother." Russano asks his companions via comms system after spending some time considering his options. He cannot pretend the idea of "cleaning" a ship to make its capture easier wouldn't be interesting.

The diplomat even has a short daydream about having a small fleet of ships amassed during his trip simply because he knows that sooner or later they will be attacked during their voyage.

How much do I know about the PXE? And from the looks of it could I help the Centauri captain outbid them in exchange for some of the organism for my own use? And any more details/short descriptions on the next items to be auctioned or is the name my only clue?

Oh, and any nearby gambling place where Russano could risk his chances?

No descriptions, just a poster on the wall. The merchants themselves can be asked, though. The merchant Azor is said to be skilled at the local game, played on a board representing the planet Ra and its asteroid moons. There are twelve salvageable ships inside the rings, and each player takes turns choosing which wreck to travel to. Wrecks on the opposite side of the rings take two turns to reach, which means that the other player might swoop in and steal the wreck before he gets there. The goal is to salvage more than your opponent.

...

PXE, short for Pheonix Engineering, is one of the few polities in the Polarian sphere to have an impact on politics and commerce in the local sector. Their corporation started off as a trader's guild in an exceedingly harsh environment. Unlike other merchant's guilds, who pleaded with local governments for contracts and privileges, Phoenix emphasized mobility and flexibility. Weaving their way around wars and the lack thereof, they were able to pull hefty profits flying lighter vessels in tight, organized packs with extended travel ranges. War is common among the systems of Polaris, and Phoenix was able to take advantage of the numerous border conflicts and decentralized wars occurring on the sector's internal borders. This led to its explosive growth in the recent decades, acquiring assets pushing it far beyond the definition of a mere merchant's guild. Owning several worlds in its sphere of protection, Phoenix is more or less a nation of its own.

[2+1] PXE has a great credit record locally, but it is quite difficult to accept a promise from a group hundreds of lightyears away. The agent is unlikely to spend more than 70 SUP on this, since after all Phoenix does not have much demand for bioweapons. Nonetheless, the agent expresses interest in furthering his corporation's knowledge and perhaps receiving a raise of his own.

[5+1] The Centauri is delighted at your proposal. He informs you that he is able to afford outbidding PXE, but he would rather not. Opportunity cost and all. He believes, however, that if you can overwhelm the PXE associate through a joint fund, you can dissuade him from participating altogether, and thus allow the Centauri to save a lot on the canister.

use essence transfer to put my fatigue on him, keep swinging

[6/4+3] You begin the process of transferring your injuries to your opponent, but your powers work in a rather unexpected fashion, instead drawing a strange red glow from your wounds. You are able to move this "glow" around with your mind, as if you were telekinetically moving a cloud of material. As soon as it intersects your opponent's face, however, he clasps his hands over his jaw and reels back.

[6+1] vs (6-1) You approach, fists drawn, and enter melee combat with the disgruntled traveler. Though a time-honored tradition, fistfights have been largely supplanted by weapon-based combat. With the axes and swords of today, a fight is usually swift and much too short to be savored. You manage to rough the guy up a bit, but also take some blows yourself. Both men maintain their composure, though you gain a slight advantage as he stumbles back into the wall.

Up at the ladder, you sense a gathering of men and women of all stripes and uniforms gathering to watch the combat unfold.

Character sheets. Refer to this post for now, I will re-post it when the characters leave space.

Open the box and show the man the potato's. If no reaction, then close the box and throw it into the closet again.

Russano seems pleased with the proposition. It does not sound too expensive on his end and guarantees the acquisition of a nifty, if extremely dangerous, toy. His interest lies mostly in taking a sample back to Aldros II exactly so his people can research and protect themselves better from similar attacks. He comms the rest of the group just in case. "I will provide someone with assistance to purchase a rather virulent and extremely deadly bio-weapon. I hope you are having fun as well."

Deal done. Shake (and sign a contract) on it.

The move won't be effective unless you make your intentions public. But as you and the Centauri captain sign, Walker (The PXE agent) walks by your table, recognizing the Centauri. Looking down at the man (Centauri are rather short, owing to their high-gravity homeworld. But they are by no means physically unimposing), he utters a greeting with a smile,
"Well met! I see you've found a fellow of high status. What kind of negotiations would you be making with a representative of an independent world?"
The agent's eye seems to be trained in recognizing people by their uniform. To be fair, your ceremonial robes are hardly subtle.
"Well, my friend, this fellow and I have found interest in the latest item being sold. We plan to share it between ourselves after purchasing it."
"I see... well, I should be off, then. Money and time are oft the same."

The agent leaves the room. It looks like your plan succeeded! As he leaves, you both contribute 5 SUP to a bid--enough to dissuade the well-off but not rich participants in the auction, and more than anything that's left.

Acquired bioweapon canister (50%)

Current Ship Upgrade Points: 84

Press the advantage, keep him pinned on the wall.

[1+2] You strike the man, but something feels wrong... your blow does not meet resistance but feels as if it were stopped by an unknown force. It bounces back and allows the attacker to advanced on you, leaving his position against the wall.

A pair of men start climbing down the ladder. Their outfits do not signify any loyalty--they could be off-duty cops, or fellow drunks.

"Good evening sir! Would you care for some golden potatoes?"

Open the box and show the man the potato's. If no reaction, then close the box and throw it into the closet again.

[1+2] "Not really. Are they really golden?"

He seems interested, but not convinced yet. Gold doesn't have many uses, so trying to sell it to someone is much like trying to sell them money. It could work if you were to pay him in some fashion with them, though. You might just be better off finding a bank, though.

Russano is starting to get mildly worried about the radio silence of most of his companions.

Is there going to be a pause at any point? If so, use that moment to make sure the newest acquisition is secured inside the ship. If not, moving on to the next product.
