When combat occurs, both attacker and defender roll a dice.
If the attacker rolls higher than the defender, the difference between the rolls determines the amount of damage dealt in terms of injuries. Higher values are better, but even a roll of 4 vs 3 (example) will result in some damage.
If the defender rolls higher than the attacker, the defender might deal a counterattack if he/she is capable and rolls well enough, using the difference as a d6 result.
CHARISMA: Increases all social actions by +1 while equipped. Each point stacks with other sources of charisma.
DEFENSE: Increases your own defense roll when you are hit with an enemy weapon, mitigating your own injuries. Defense does not stack and only your highest defense value will be taken into account.
Deflect Chance: 1 in 6th chance that a light attack (bullets, sword slashes, glancing hits from an axe, punches, sweeping beam, etc) will simply be ignored. Stacks linearly, so 6 deflect chance means that you are immune to conventional attacks.
Parry Chance: Same as deflect chance, but it's a second calculation. If you have two one-handed weapons, both will stack linearly with each other.
DMG: Damage type. Some armors defend against different types better than others.
CRIT: The kind of injury this weapon will do if you roll a base 5, regardless of enemy defense.
CLUMSINESS: When carried, decreases social actions and actions requiring precision, such as long distance weaponry use. Stacks linearly with different items.
STRENGH: Adds to strength-related actions such as moving heavy objects or punching people. Stacks linearly.

At the palace, you stand up and observe a few things happening at once.

your minions these strange magnetic shards. Strangely enough, you can control them with your powers, even though your mastery of metal is not quite ready. You halt the advance of the metal shards around your party, and forcibly separate the ones attached to your boot. They stick to each other as you throw them off telekinetically, turning into a tangled mess outside of the repulsion radius. For some reason though, the ball of metal shards continues to follow your group at a safe distance.
Regardless, the shards do not bother you again as Russano leads the party back to the city.

You are pleased to see that the front gates are fully operational, and that traffic is smoothly flowing along the streets. Advertising drones are once again an ubiquitous presence in the air, although you're not sure if this is a good thing.
"The courier ship itself is in orbit. We will have to board the next launch."Aldros II does not have proper infrastructure yet for simple lift-off to orbit. However, this is because launch loops and space elevators are quite expensive to build and are a huge investment. Instead, Aldros II uses regular rocket launches from the planet's desert regions. The rockets are reusable, and as such the biggest cost involved is the fuel, which is plentiful and comes from Aldros II's bigger Gas Giant brother, Aldros III.
Every few days, there is a launch that brings passengers and cargo to the planet's orbital depot, where all space traffic to the planet's surface is parked. The courier ship is parked there, and placed on lockdown by the navy.
