Boring Established Fort
« on: January 22, 2013, 04:38:38 pm »

I have a well-defended and well-established fort. How can I make it end with a small atomic blast? I have DFhack.

May I interest you in a group pass to the circus? Great Rates! No charge for Children and Infants! See creatures from another world!

Collapsing the entire Fort on an invasion always works splendidly.

Indeed!

Several packages are available, since you have an exclusive dfhack pass!

For the impatient, there's always "reveal all', which will clearly show where the circus is! If there is any path at all, (even through magma!) The clowns will arrive for the delight of young and old alike!

Then, there's the option to mine the whole vein of cotton candy out of the candycane. Delicious candy, and the circus! What more could you wish for?!

Well, I'l tell you!

Act now, and you can spawn obsidian floor tiles on the edge of the map many Z levels above your fortress, and spawn a magma source on top!  It's like a waterfall, only it's magma! Breathe in that sulfurous magma mist! Nothing quite like it!

Oh, the places you'll go!

The only goblins I ever had were two thieves in the first year. They got away. Kobolds get killed by my two legendary hunters. Megabeasts die quickly. (Seriously Hydra? A cat?) A titan was killed by War Yaks.

As above, but build a 3x3 smooth and engraved tunnel straight down, through all three caverns, building where there happens to be empty space, all the way to the candy spire. Give the clowns a nice way out.

If the caverns don't provide you with a way out, the bottom certainly will.

For bonus points add a stairs for future adventurers.

Add a ton of puzzles and traps to make it interesting to explore through as an adventurer. Test it out yourself then show it off on the forums.

Clearly, you need more net worth, and need to allow a few thieves to successfully walk out with some pittance.

Clothing, with greenglass embelishments, and colored fabric embroidery does a fabulous job of pumping networth, and at producing XXitemsXX you don't want, but are highly attractive to thieves.

It's been my experience that allowing thieves to take stuff helps enemy civs know what you have, and promotes more aggressive seiges.

No, see. Those thieves were the ONLY ones. Or do you mean Kobolds? Releasing the FB with poison gas I just received.

Oh so it seems that FB is inaccessable, but I just got ANOTHER one, so all is good! This one has... poison sting. Fire would have been better, but this is fine too.

THAT WAS AWESOME. The FB kicked a baby, causing it to go flying. Baby's head skids, baby dies, then slams into a kid. Kid flies ten squares, but his coat deflects all the blows. YES. Will keep posting updates.

Death by a thousand scratches. Ganged up on by angry rabbits, killed by a hunter with masterwork bone bolts.
