(ADV) DIG'EM! A dirtbound story.
« on: January 21, 2013, 02:03:55 pm »

Your name is Diana G. Gerim; and you are quite bored.

For the last 3 years, you have lived out here in the plain lands, away from civilization. This has been because civilization tossed you out for... Reasons you are not happy about explaining right now. The recent boredom has come from the apparent lack of anythig interesting to do out here other than gathering food and sleeping. Which has now grown boring to you- look, are you beginning to see the pattern? Yeah.

SO! To break the boredom, you have mail-ordered a mining license from the nearby city, along with spending your last Peda to get some mining gear. You already have a snazzy helmet, which you got from your previous employment some 3 years ago.

Anyways, it will be a bit before the mail-machine will be here, so what will you do to spend the time?

Prepare your designs for a single, unsupported underground chamber spanning the entire earth, but for one soap pillar.

>Explain the photosynthesys cycle of grass with purple chlorophyll
The earth's grass is green because it absorb blue light, the most energetic, and red light, as a complement. Purple grass absorb red to green light, the least energetic ones, because the light on this world is more intense and contain more red/green. (too much light absorbtion is dangerous). On low-light planet grass could be black, and on VERY bright ones, almost white.

Bah, nothing yet. You already checked it 10 times today. WHERE IS THAT DANG MAIL-MACHINE?!

Prepare your designs for a single, unsupported underground chamber spanning the entire earth, but for one soap pillar.

>casually draw plans on dirt for both realistic and awesome things.

HAHAH YESSS! These are all gonna be so AWESOME to make or create!.. You think!.. Can you even make stuff? Have you ever tried your hands at crafting?

Hmm...

>Why the grass be all purple.

>inspect dirt and grass

You don't really know why the plantlife is so purple, all the plants on this world have a hue of purple to them. You prefer to think they are purple because they are openly flamboyant, and happy about that!

You go plants, you go hardstyle!

>Examine contents of house boxes.

>Check house for list of stuff you own.

Beans. Tons, tons and more tons of beans.

...Well okay not tons, but lots of them! You had a thousand of them when you marched out here some 3 years ago, but now you have about 500 left, you think. Something like that. There's also a mattress, a desk, a TV and some eating utensils. That's about it, really.

>Sample the geology of the region, so we know what kinds of rock we are dealing with.

You find a small rock.

You don't know how to sample stones and rocks, so you just sorta, sample it in another way.

By eating it.

> Use your computer with net connection to start a blog about your future mining exploits.

You have been thinking about blogging before, but it all seems so very confusing, having to make sure everything is correctly spelled and all that.

Also you don't have a computer. That box in the shack is a TV.

>Sample dirt for any possibilities of farming.

You don't know how to sample dirt either, but you have seen all the plants around here grow, so you assume that the ground is good to go on farming! Not that you have ever tried that.

...Wait, what's that sound?

Oh! OH!! IT'S THE MAIL-MACHINE!!

YESSS GET OVER HERE MISTER MACHINE!!

!!!

Uh... Isn't that, kind of careless..?

"ENJOY. YOUR. PRODUCT."

Heh, the same greeting as always.

You open the box and grab the first thing you see-YES!! THIS IS IT!! THE SPINDREAD MARK II! This beauty is... Okay it's actually kinda lame, compared to all the different kind of digging machines you have heard of. BUT STILL IT'S YOURS AND YOU LOVE IT!!

You decide to flaunt what you got and jump up on the box in a fit of happiness! Yes! Nothing can make today not awesome!

Okay, lets try digging a soft diagonal slope behind our house. try for 25 degrees and a bit taller than strictly neccessary.
