Just wait until you get the extremely unhappy ones that are on the brink of going insane from the beginning. I once had a fort with a tantrum spiral which I abandoned, the next fort had about 60 dwarves migrating which instantly went insane. Good times.

I had something similar. I stopped a fort (got bored, no gobbo civ around for entertainment) and the next one had the legendary engraver show up from the previous fort. Very helpful.

So now there is a good reason to play a fortress that is caught in a tantrum spiral right down to the bitter end and make sure every dorf dies, not a single one escapes. I just wish I could order military units to attack my own citizens, no need to lock everyone in, just keep one isolated squad who doesn't know any of the other dorfs. If it is the forts end, I can just send in the "clean up" squad and massacre everyone.

So if you have a fortress full of vampires and you abandon it you'll get full waves of vampires? Nice.

I lost a fortress to the circus and when I started another I got three waves of legendarys from the old fort. (Most of whom seemed to be missing their toes(?))
