To you everything boonrelated is a waste of mana

In short - boon gives an ability to cast without prior experience, and than gain experience in plant\fire magic while using the boon. Then mage can use his own power and skills to use the boon much better than nonmage would... That means gaining more from the same investment of mana

except Eldrichs already teaching the mages plant magic, and the other woman is teaching them healing.

They dont need boons to get a head start. they are already learning very fast....

Under the boon, with mana to play with, they will learn much faster and will be combat capable much sooner and will be useful assistants right now

And any words from any update - learning very fast? Or another based on nothing assumption?

Just to clarify - if we somehow get a very powerful archmage as a worshiper, is it a bad idea to give him some potent boons?

In one update, they were working with Eldrich, in the following update, it said they had become fairly skilled in lower level plant magic and were also learning healing magic, with some already being able to use advanced plant magic and heal more threatening wounds.

And its a bit rich and hypocritical for you to be talking about 'based on nothing' assumptions when your assumptions about the afterlife expansion (among other things) were blown out the water by the GM.

oh, and on that matter: I TOLD YOU SO! (my inner child came out....sorry.)

LOL!  Tripling the size of the afterlife cost way  more than creating it (200 mana vs 40) Yep it was much faster, but it was more costy.  expanding is more expansive...
And you proposed to improve it to *3 standard by orders of magnitude and add defenses on top of that( that 200 mana doesn't include any defenses that will not be too cheap, eaither)
[sarcasm] Yeah you was right [/sarcasm]

Oh, remember now, silly me, somehow completely forgot that mages are kids...  Still booning will aid their education... fire may be a bit too early, but landscape designing... Should work
Of cause they shouldn't participate in combat.... Will go and edit my proposal

The way you banged o about not doing it made it seem as if it would cause the entire thing to collapse. and 200 is nothing compared to the increase, our present mana stockpile and the benefits.

And, outside of creating a few angels to watch over the souls and fix any cracks, i dont see what defenses we could possibly need? its not like anyone is going to attack the afterlife. Not yet anyway.

I said no to expanding the afterlife? You are making things from the air. I supported expansion of the afterlife, I just said that it wouldn't be that easy to bring it to *3 standard and that it's unwise to unload too much (all like you proposed) mana in the afterlfe. But I always wanted to expand it to *2 standard

at fist you were against it completely. Then as more people agreed that it needed expanding you changed your view.

And i never said i want it expanding to x3. i said that i thought the souls were supposed to be supplying 3 mana per soul as per the description when we first learnt about the afterlives.

I dont think in the post where afterlives make their first appearance it said we'd need to expand it to get 3 mana per soul. i read it as, when we pu a soul in the afterlife, as standard it will produce 3 mana per soul. Unless it was retconned later and i missed it.

OK, that's enough...  You make things from the air, you propose no fun ideas (Generic - make angels\expand afterlife and launch a diary producton are unfun)  on your own. And your posts only contain attacks on me and my ideas

I know that I always wanted to expand the afterlife together with granting boons, many boons. That was my first though when we got that souls

Full ignore from now, pointless discussions. I have better uses for my time

Generic ideas are generic because they are popular. you know why they are popular? because they are, usually, effective.

A dairy industry would vary our food, making people happier (as would a traditional meat industry). both a traditional meat and a dairy industry would give our people things to do and better job variation.

A spices (no just 1 spice, but many spices) industry and a dye industry (again, not just 1 dye, many dyes) would also increase our money from trade massively and also improve our peoples quality of life, give them jobs and maybe even attract immigrants who we can then convert later.

And your hypocrisy never stops. you say that my ideas are un-fun, but yet pages back you berated others for proposing things based completely off of the fun factor of their ideas (your initial argument against creating a wider variation of creatures (among other things) that have one or two specialised roles).

If you guys are gonna do this, could you perhaps do it elsewhere?
Because all you're doing is creating a flood of posts that give no ideas, doesn't really give a good critique of any ideas, and you're really only supporting your ideas because you think they're better.  If you wont move it else where, then just take a step back, look at what you have, and look at what they have, and now consider the advantages and disadvantages of both plans, and do so impartially.
Please and thank you.

Origami_Psycho, problem is that kahn1234 have no plan :) Don't worry, I'll not answer him, got really bored of him

It's fun to argue with, for example, rolepgeek, while I dislike his - "make as many new types of creatures as possible"  Or with GWG  (we are arguing with him in many-many suggestion games, surprisingly in this one we started to agree... That's amusing)   Another to multiply flood

Right now it's an interesting part of story ( tournament is fun to read) but we have nothing to do but speculate on some long term plans

Damn, That's OOC even for OOC :)
But I listed my long term ideas long time ago (look at the last list)  and have no new ideas right now.

I may support ideas of some else, but I prefer to build the base and raise troops later. That's why you may expect that I will be against designing any new creature, because in my vision we need mana for upgrading our home, first, troop raising second

Becoming a fortified center of a transport network and getting some  magic support to take some minor tasks out of our hands ( and have someone to counter enemy mages later)  is what I'd like to have before we fully concentrate on the fortress

I do have plans, and if you looked i do agree with ideas from everyone, including you.

I just dont like some of your ideas.

I can support that motion.
EDIT: Although I think that we need to have a strong military for both offensive and defensive purposes, so as to defend our foreign trade interests.

So I'm going to bring up the "bud thing" again.

If we want to protect foreign trade interests wouldn't it be awesome if we could militarise a population of plants we have spread around the world in certain conflicted areas.

also... buds should totally have flowers that when harvested, dried and smoked give a relaxing and minor healing effect ^^. sort of like an incentive to allow them to live in your domain.
