Hmm...an intriguing problem. From what chances I have had to observe their race so far, they seem to be fond of enclosed spaces, being comforted by the simplicity and security that such environments offer. Perhaps they would find an underground biome to be more amenable?

But where could we find such a cave? I'm no God of Stone, you know.

This world may have formed with natural caverns, but if we find that not to be the case, perhaps a benign tunnelling lifeform would work. This would have the added benefit of exposing great quantities of metals and minerals for use by the sapient races.

I like the way you think. That will surely be useful!

New Action (addendum to the previous): Neyravah creates a new species of drake, the Stonedrake, which is about 15 feet long with stubby limbs, neck, and tail. The Stonedrake has a rocky hide, massive claws for digging, and wide molars for grinding the rock it eats. Stonedrakes can subsist on any kind of rock, but enjoy the taste of metal and gemstones. These are not digested; metals are "smelted" in the gut and excreted as pure metal, while gems are virtually untouched, merely released from the stone which encased them. These drakes will be spread across the land, expecially near dwarven settlements. (There is no way this could go wrong!)

Turn 5

The War Giant, confused his tries at communication witht he two tiny beings ignored turns to his nature. Ripping out a nearby tree it readies itself for the attack of the two Fate-Touched. Armored in Jötnite and with weapons forged from it they charge the Giant. The weapons, stronger and sharper than any steel cut through the mighty tree with easy and deep into the flesh. Screaming the Giant rears and lashing out with his hands he inadvertetly strikes Udil and sends him flying. Before Aule can intervene the Giant regainss his composure and digs his heel into the back of the downed dwarf, before turning onto the Emberguard and lifting him up like puppet. Ignoring the flames thrown at him he begins to crush the Emberguard like an Egg. Although Aule is a seething ball of fire now and the Giants arm is slowly blackening he holds onto the Emberguard and crushes the last of it's life from him. In a last pain-wrecked scream Aule goes unconscious.

Meanwhile thanks to the help of the Emerald Splinter Udil has regained his footing and rams his sword into the foot of the giant. Screaming he rears and drops the unconscious Emberguard. Udil in a last effort manages to hamstring the Giant bringing it to fall. As it touches the ground the earth shakes in the whole of the surrounding Area. The Fire Giant weakly tries to defend itself, but Udil stumbling out of the range of the giant, scrambles onto it's back and severes the spinal cord.

Stricken by Pain and Inner Injuries he collapses, only to later awake in a tent in the makeshift camp of the Dwarves.
In the course of the following Days Udil is barely conscious clinging to his dear life. The Medicine Dwarves and Elders do their best, but it is not enough. While Udil Giantslayer will survive the wounds inflicted by the Giant, he is no longer able to walk without a crutch. His left leg is beyond any and all repair and had to be removed just below the knee, in an effort to save him from dying from an infection.

Days turned into weeks, passing by in mad fever dreams and a few lucid moments. But in the end Udil survives his face ashen, his beard grey. But the Dwarves decide to follow their broken leader anyway. Settling in the vast Tunnels beyond the Volcano they found the First Dwarvish Underhome dubbing it Smoulderhome.

And again the Decades passed. The Dwarves of Smoulderhome prospered in their Underhome, fed by the nutritious mushrooms they grew and the cattle meat they traded with the Children of Az-Sho. Over a century passes and Udil while old is still alive, now 400 years old he is a legend. King of the Dwarves, Slayer of Giants, Founder of Smoulderhome and yet mroe titles added to his name. The Emberdwarves as they have begun to call themselves now cover three Underground Cities, one below the Serpenthold and two more, deeper in the underground tunnel systems. Using the knowledge of Iron and Bronze Smithing they create weapons and armors which far surpass those of even the most skilled Smoulderborn. And finally while not able to craft weapons made from Jötnite, the Dwarves are the first to discover the secret of steel.

Udil,as the King of the Dwarves finally takes (to the relief of his people) a wife. Danea, which births him a single child a strong and healthy son. As the years pass by and the Trade with the Children of Az-Sho flourishes the Emberdwarves slowly start to follow the Cult of Az-Sho.

Meanwhile the Children of Az-Sho soon discover that on freshly cleared Areas new trees grow. Flameoaks. Resistant to Heat and Fire they are cut down and used for Carpentry. The new smaller Clawdrakes are hunted down and soon extinct. More and more of the Jungle is burned down the flesh of the beasts cured and readied as proviant.

While the Death of the first Emberguard hits the Children hard, it does not stop the Flameborn from creating more of them. Soon an army of 400 Emberguards form the Household Guard of the Flameborn.

With Armors made from Jötnite, backpacks made of Flameoak and outfitted with Food from the Dwarves the first Expedition Army of the Children moves out after ten years of preparation. Full Three Thousand Smoulderborn, two thousand Ashborn auxiliaries and engineers, Aurik first of the Flameborn and a contigent of 50 Emberguards march into the Darkness of the Tunnels.

In the lands of Eversummer however the people were prepared, hardened by decades of constant warfare the once small city-states clawed dozens of small kingdoms out for themselves. But even though the Lands of Eversummer were hardened by war they were not prepared for the Cult of the Wanderer, reformed by their own God into a militant priesthood they are the first to discover the Art of Iron Working. Armed with weapons of Iron, armored in their Faith in Thaneos and supported with Steeled Discipline the Kingdoms of Eversummer crumbled before them. Rautos, Mayor of Hadria finally crowns himself Emperor of Hadria which covers most of the Southern Half of Eversummer. All that prevents Rautos from conquering the Rest of Eversummer is the Cult of the Red Woman. Although armed with inferior Bronze at first, they soon scavenge their own Iron Armours and Weapons and even unlock the secret of it themselves. It is a long and drawn out bloody war which lasts two decades before Rautos II. finally signs a uneasy peace between the Coalition of Nothern Kingdoms and the Hadrian Empire. It is an early Spring Day in the Kingdom of Riat when a young boy runs screaming for the Gates of the Small City State. Following him beings of Magma and Flame, murder in their eyes burning the fields of the peasants. The Kingdom of Riat immediately surrenders to the Children of Az-Sho, it's own thousand militia no match for the more than five thousand enemies. Ignoring the protests of the local Red Temple, the King signs an unconditional surrender.

Burning down the Temple of the Red Woman and drowning the women for heresy, Aurik High Priest of the Fiery Snake outlaws the Faith in the City State.
What Aurik didn't expect was the Power of the Cult. It had gone a long way from it's early Roots as a Small Mercenary Army. The Cult had grown mighty, forming the Primary Defense Line against the Superior Hadrian Legions, the Cult of the Red Woman was paid incredible sums by the Kingdoms to protect them. Now able to field a standing army of more than ten thousand Red Sisters they could stand toe to toe with any of the Wanderers Legions.

The Cult had grown so large that it had developed into three distinct classes within it's Priesthood: The Red Sisters were the Militant Arm and widely respected among all Warriors of Eversummer. The Black Sisters were the Guardians of the Temples and though each thought at least as good as a Red Sister their devoted their lives more to lust than to anything else. Not taking any money for their services Prostitution had no foothold in the North. And finally the White Sisters. Spiritual Leaders, they lived a life of Ascetism and Celibacy. However they were the only Sisters who were allowed to have children. Children birthed by the Kiss of Life. The Girls entered the Sisterhood, the Boys however were groomed to become Blacksmiths and Auxiliaries to the Sisters.  With the Recent Discovery of Archery the latter became more and more important for the Sisterhood.

While Eversummer skidded headlong into a War, the North stayed calm. At first. However with his Speech Avarian caused chaos. New Skrettir were created outside of the Cult of the White Father. More so the Cult tore itself apart. Many Skrettir had the standpoint that the speech was a clear sign that their god didn't want to be depicted at all, others said that they would continue to worship him as god of wolves. The Discussion tore the Cult in two. The Iconoclasts and the White Wolves. While the Iconoclasts were a minority at first and were under heavy pressure from the White Wolves, sightings of Ice Phoenixes and the White Stag caused the creation of two more groups and the formerly more or less peaceful clans entered a bloody Religious War. With the Gift of Avarian the Fear's were subdued, domesticated and used as mounts, Changing the Warfare in the North entirely.
at the Moment the four Groups are almost equally strong.

In one of the Minor Kingdoms of Eversummer meanwhile a new Cult worshipping Corvus comes into existence. In the current War and Turmoil however they are yet weak and unimportant, a cult followed by old men and scribes.

In the Silent Depths of the Squiddles Towers the first of the Seaspawn is raised by teh Squiddles, who raise her as one of their own.

While Eversummer and the North were drenched in Blood, Sabt-Golgo whisked away humans to create the Mirrorborn, beings living on the Spider's Ring...after extensive studies she learns a lot about humans physique, anatomy and social behaviour, an unwanted side effect is that the Goddess has become pregnant. What at first was hailed as a Happy Event soon changed as in the moment of Birth the sun went dark and even the Spider's Ring turned black. With a scream of pain that could be heard on the entire planet Sabt Golgo births her first Brood: the Shattered. Birthed in Pain and moulded by it they are broken in the moment they are birthed. Out of the Womb of their Mother they immediately begin to attack the Mirrorborn. In a cataclysmic Battle the Spiders Ring is wreathed in Death and Blood, in the darkness of the Eclipse created by Aldemas, the Spiders Ring glows in a foreboding blood red. For three weeks Sabt Golgo births her Brood and for three weeks the Shattered fight against the Mirrorborn pushing them back further and further, Sabt Golgo helplessly caught in labor-pains.

As finally the Eclipse recedes, the Spiders Ring glistens with the Blood of it's inhabitants.

While the Darkness is viewed with fear by the Coastal Dwarves it in no way causes any worship. Sceptical since Neyravah, worship of Aldemas is weak and soon abandoned.
Likewise the Soletaken flee as soon as they notice that they are called together by the two Headed Goddess of Mischance. Fleeing they soon stumble upon the first Children of Az-Sho who kneel in abject worship as they see in the Soletaken the Blessed Children of Az-Sho. Worship soon turns into Domestication as they notice that the Soletaken are barely civilized. Capturing them they bring them before Az-Sho himself to decide what to do with these beings. The Stonedrakes meanwhile are yet unnoticed by the Dwarves.

But it is not all war and death. In Hadria Thaneos is still reforming the Order as his body suddenly turns black as the darkest Night and another being sprouts from him: the First of the Njôltursar, a Giant of Darkness.

As the years pass in Hadria several Fathers come to the King and even Thaneos themselves, with them unnaturally large children, emanating an Aura of Life. Their Mothers died giving birth. It seems like Thaneos son, got a bit to close with humans.

But not only Thaneos had family problems. Az-Sho felt a shudder going through itself and with an agonizing scream spawned a massive orange fiery egg.

Soon after the destruction of the temple in the capital of Riat young red women entered the  city. She openly demonstrated  symbols  of the sisterhood on her white clothes, something no one would do openly. Especially today, when Aurik gathered the citizens on the center square to perform rituals praising Az-Sho and her fiery egg
She got arrested by ashborns. She was dragged to the Aurik, to be sacraficed to the snake. And then she threw her captors away as if they were toys, tuned herself and spoke in a thundering voice

"Citizens of Riat you are traitors. You betrayed my sisters"  That was Vanida herself, Vanida full of wraith. Some of the children of Az-Sho tried to attack the woman, but their attacks came through her fiery body without harming and she continued as if no one was around "You betrayed the red sisters that saved you from foreign warriors more than once. You betrayed the black sisters that gifted happiness to many of you. You betrayed the white sisters that never hurt anyone. And you will pay for your cowardice. As you did what you did out of fear of fire... You'll Die from Fire!!!"  With that wrathful scream rays of fire started to shoot in all directions, putting everything that could burn on fire. Trees, buildings, humans, animals, everything... Nothing could survive that inferno, nothing but The Children of Az-Sho
" As for you, slaves of the snake" Vanida turned her attention to the  Children of Az-Sho " Remember that your god is not the only powerful being of the world. Neither he is the only one who knows what fire is. Let me show what my fire is. Fire of Passion, Fire of Desire, Fire of Lust. Every child of Az-Sho that touched the fire felt extreme pleasure, greater than any woman (or man)  ever gave to them Live here, worship me, Keep that fire alive and stay away from other human cities and you will be able to experience this feelings as often as you desire. Or. You may extinguish it, serve your snake, try to kill more of my worshipers and be my enemy. Your choice With that words Vanida left the city

Act 1: Burn Riat down together with it's citizens with the fire that is deadly for normal beings and a narcotic for fire resistant creatures. It saves it's properties as long as it burns and not moved out of the walls of the burned down city

Mutare saw the havoc that had been wrought upon his world. Races mutated, divided, slaughtered. People killing others based upon their object of worship. Gods directly slaughtering mortals over petty slights and even *shudder* violating them. This world had been corrupted by the deceit and cruelty of Mutare's children. Mutare decided to bring the mortals the truth, the Mutarian Truth.
Take the form closest to Mutare's true form that does not drive mortals insane.
In every city, teach all those who will listen the true history of the Universe (excluding the bits where Mutare dropped War Giants onto Dwarves, drove mortals insane, taught them knowledge that shouldn't have been known, and generally things that would make Mutare look like a dick. He might be one, but still.).
Those who accept my word as truth are not to worship me, but to keep my Truth in their hearts and spreading it.

As Mutare's avatar appeared in the cities of Hadria, a terrible sound resounded throughout the skies. A voice, full of anger and hatred, was heard by the avatar - the humans around it all died from the noise.

"You..."

Before the Avatar, Thaenos materialized himself. He was wielding his World Hammer, and his eyes were blazing with fury. He spoke once again, his booming voice as strong as thunder or an earthquake.

"You are the one who took my son! You intruded my lands, and took my son, and lead to his death!"

As he spoke, something similar to a vague of cold went from Thaneos' body and into his weapon, as he was powering it once again with his own energy.

"YOU TOOK MY SON!"

And with those last words, he lifted his Hammer against his head, and the last thing the humans of that city felt before all dying was immense cold, and the world itself trembling.

Thaneos attacks Mutare, with the intention to kill him. Just before the battle, he empowers his Hammer with an Ice act, making it freeze anything too weak to handle its strength, and a Soul act, making it trace and destroy the essences, not just the bodies, of those he kills.

Aldemas smiled as the world became bathed in Darkness. Everything was going as planned, and even beings created from Darkness which were not his could be felt. He laughed in his mind as a small trickle of energy overcame him; as the Cult's worship empowered him.
---
The power was minuscule compared to what he had previously held in his possession, but it was enough to bless his followers. Aldemas released a flow of energy to the most diligent of his followers, and taught them the ability to both manipulate, and meld Darkness into whatever form they desire. He knew and taught them that their abilities would be greatest at the time of the Eclipse.
---
The Cult had praised him; and now he was to grant them instruction. He instructed his acolytes to praise him during the day to spread his faith and preach the Eclipse as a blessing, whilst during cover of darkness to kill those who went against the word of Aldemas; forming the Cult into a major coastal religion in almost every household.
---
Aldemas craved soon for more power, and searched throughout the world for those who had benefited from the Eclipse, such as thieves and assassins of the Empires , and gave them Divine instruction to spread the Faith of the Umbra; by both killing off dissenters of the religion, and simply preaching.
---
Before Aldemas finally rested, he decided to talk with the Giant of Darkness, who was a consequence of the Eclipse, and might form a powerful ally.

Aldemas blesses his worshippers the knowledge of manipulating darkness, and the ability to become one with darkness
He also tells his worshippers to preach the Faith during the day, while to use their powers to kill off those who decided to preach against the Faith. Spreading the Religion, and giving the kills as sacrifices to me
He also attempts to get the Thieves and Assassins of the Empires(or just those who benefited from the Eclipse) to preach and kill for him, using the killed as sacrifices

(Uses 1 minor act)

Although in his Avatar Form even the Overgod himself cannot escape the wrath of an Ancient. The Power emanating from the World Hammer was palpable. The surrounding area was covered in hoarfrost and the earth itself vibrated.  On the other side Mutare in his full glory, a mass of writhing tentacles and appearing and vanishing eyes, a shoggoth would have been proud.

A moment passes as the two so unequal opponents eye each other, a man dressed in a suit and a giant wielding a weapon of unspeakable power. Too fast for the eye of any mortal being The Ancient advances and strikes the massive Overgod but misses barely. As the Hammer connects witht he ground an earthquake rips open the landscape, cleaving the nearby town in two and annihilating at least a dozen buildings. Tentacles grab the giant and try to restrain him, but the Overgod underestimates the power of Thaneos. Fuelled by the Belief of his followers he easily frees himself ripping of writhing tentacles, causing the Overgod considerable pain. The Keening sound erupting from Mutare is enough to drive several onlookers who haven't fled yet insane, most of them throwing themselves in the chasm made by the hammer, others clawing at their ears, trying to pierece their own eardrums.

Increasing the sound of the keening, Thaneos is forced to retreat, bleeding from his ears, stumbling from the sheer power thrown at him. The next moment, the Overgod throws his considerable mass at the giant drowning him below the undescribable mass of writhing substance. It seems the Overgod has won, except that it starts to shudder, to wail and then a god chunk of the massive monstrosity explodes outwards, Thaneos climbing free, covered in sizzling bits of the Overgods chosen form. The entrails are burning into the skin of the giant with sizzling sound for a while before he manages to get them off himself. With an a battlecry that could be heard from miles the Giant launches himself with his final attack at the Overgod, vanquishing his very essence with a massive blow of the World Hammer. The very Universe stops for a seeming eternity. Then a blinding light engulfs Thaneos, the Hammer and Mutare and for a moment creation itself seems to unravel before reasserting itself. With a sickening sound the Avatar of the Overgod explodes in a cascade of tentacles, eyes and writhing brown-green creeper that repaints the area for dozens of miles with the remains of the Overgod. The Heavily wounded Giant is invigorated with new energy, filled with powers normally unreachable for a being like him, powers that equal and surpass that of the Elder Gods themselves.

The Death of the Overgod can be felt in the entire Universe and gods suddenly feel overcome with incredible energy and power. And although Neyravah arrives to help Thaneos she comes to late. The God is slain. However she still profits from being present in the moment of Mutares Death.

Thaneos, Father of Giants has slain the Overgod!

Thaneos recieves 3 Mighty Acts
Neyravah recieves 2 Mighty Acts
Sabt Golgo and Avarian recieve 1 Mighty Act each
The Younger Gods and Az-Sho recieve 1 Act
The Lands surrounding the Battlefield are completely destroyed. The Nearby City State of Rem was entirely annihilated and a giant chasm now dominates the landscape. The Land itself is covered in a unnatural biological mass of Tentacles and creeper. A living mindless landscape, dangerous to any Mortal daring to enter. Whoever decides to live here will go invariably mad. Being made of the Overgods very essence, it cannot be cleaned, burned or in any other way removed by any mean but the powers of another Overgod.

The Universe is currently still filled with the Power of Mutare although he is dead. The Gods have time for two turns to usurpate the position of Overgod, otherwise creation will cease to exist. The Cost to assume this position is 1 Mighty Act.

"Well done, Thaneos. We do believe We couldn't have done better Ourself. As for the New Overgod...what better way to help the world?
"...Come to think of it, there are many. We could not bear to sleep for eons as the world worsens. We will not attempt to usurp the Overgod's position.

Ignore previous post.

Instead, do this:

Neyravah, freed from fear of the old Overgod and flushed with His power, gave one last gift to the dwarves: Mountain Tortoises. With a Mighty Act, They fused several tortoises with several mountains to make a race of, essentially, living mountains. These Mountain Tortoises were released near the dwarven settlements, with forests living on them already.

Then, Neyravah searched the world, searching for any desert, tundra, scrap of rock, or other lifeless place in the world where there are people. They attempt to locate some downtrodden person, make that person aware of Them, and offer to help them and their society.
