Also, concerning the Alcubiere drive: I may have been confused somewhere, but apparently there was new discoveries in the field leading some to believe that a safe, not-as-costly Alcubiere could be made. And one guy managed to get funding from the NASA (where he works) to... Build a proof a concept. A sort-of prototype. Brace yourselves.
