somehow i sold my "container" when i sold my loot. i cannot carry anything anymore except in my hands. But i still carry my backpack on my back... I thought that was my "container". But the game keeps saying "you dont have a suitable container".

please help,

You're probably trying to put something from your backpack into a container. You can tell if the object is in your backpack or another container, if when you open the inventory screen, the item appears in green underneath your (cyan, green or grey) container. Items or objects in your hands show up as grey, items you are wearing show up as cyan, and items inside another container show up as green. Things that you've been splattered with (like blood) also show up as green, but that's not terribly important.
When you pick something up, it will either be placed in your hands if you have one free, or in your backpack. If you try putting something into your bag from your hands, you may get a "You don't gave a suitable container" message because your backpack or any other bag you have is full. This doesn't stop you from grabbing things from the ground, because they'll automatically be placed in your backpack, space or no. If you try to grab the item without any space in your hands and no backpack, you will see a "You do not have a free grasp" message.
