I just slap enough thrust on my rocket to get out no matter how badly I fly. o.o

I don't see the relation between ASAS and gravity turning.

Do you mean mechjeb? ASAS is a pretty helpful tool in the atmosphere, though it's a lot less useful in space due to the RCS rebalancing, and it doesn't lag.

You can't gravity turn with ASAS enabled, since it keeps you heading in the same direction.

And yes it creates lag by overcompensating and making your rocket jiggle. jiggling means lag.

And it's even worse with Mechjeb, game goes much slower when Jeb pilots an already laggy craft.

Well, obviously you should turn autopilot off when you want to pilot it yourself. :P I use ASAS, and I manage to get into orbit just fine.

I also use a lot of ASAS so no argument there.

I finally did it! I made a 160 spare parts rocket, without any lag at all!

Looks like I take the spare parts lead!

The key it turned out was a better weight distribution.

still not dead!

I am loading right now parts on the moon station core, intending to build the rest once in mun orbit out of fairy parts.

Depends heavily on your computer. I can run a rocket with mechjeb while recording on FRAPS with no framerate stutter or lag time.

Careful—you need enough propulsion to get into Mun orbit from 0 speed, due to Orbital Construction's quirk.

When you orbitally deploy a ship in Mun orbit, the ForceMatchVelocity operatjom either sends you off on a parabolic orbit, or has you enter freefall. On the map, the blue path flickers between a freefall and an escape trajectory. :P

Ok,

Ultimately I only managed to put the station core up around the mun; it was an interesting challenge to reach the satellite with a ship so heavy, I had to split the maneuver in two and play catch up.

Everyone made it back safely from all missions.

Here is the save:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kz4wtiwv0bxuojy/bay12.zip.zip
(yes two .zip because I am stupid and tired but is not a nested zip)

Here is the photo album:

where you can see the neat docking struts in action!  8)

also I fixed missing tubes from the tug craft using fuel transfer and getting people back with only two of six engines in the last mission. neato!

story trough image comments will follow tomorrow.

Cropping images should be mandated xD A lot of the images have mostly black space, when the point is on, say, the 3 dV on the Mechjeb screen, or the nifty rocket acheiving orbit speed, or a thousand pieces of rocket raining on the space center.

Use Paint (save as png or jpeg), Gimp, Photoshop... All basic graphics programs now support cropping, that  I know of. O.o

Sorry about that. I'll do my best to post edit them.

Probably imgur has some tools as well.

I hadn't time because of RL and ended up playing my turn very late into the night. I didn't want to hold the save so I'll come back to story later.

I like the short turns, had i accomplished everything there would have been no reason to come back there.

Now, can I get added to the second round list?

We have a new record for most parts shipped in orbit by a single rocket
160t
